A hefty Black Ale with profound malt and hop complexity. Neither Stout nor Porter, it will be its own thing – full-bodied, bold and black. Flavor characteristics of dark chocolate, mocha, molasses and dark fruits. Balanced by piney citrusy notes of Pacific Northwest hops. Full-bodied and uncommonly satisfying at 7.5% alcohol.

Can from Brewtopia. Black with lasting tan head and lace. Coffee chocolate leafy fruity aroma. Roasted coffee chocolate some dark fruity sweetness with a little tartness and very roasted coffee bitter long finish with a little light citrus fruitiness. Medium body fairly rish and creamy. Very good.

12 oz. bottle from The Beer Store. Pours dark brown with some ruby edges and a one finger mocha head. Thick rings of lace. Aroma is char and pine resin. Nice flavor featuring a solid pine hop presence with dark caramel malt and the sweet, yet bitter taste of molasses. Great combination. Medium bodied with a mildly bitter finish. Nice!

Drank from a pint glass, poured from a twelve ounce bottle. Pours a beautiful black color, nice frothy light tan head. Amazing aromas coming from this brew hints of caramel, molasses, chocolate, as well as some cherry notes in there. Initial smooth taste, leading too a nice full bodied malty goodness, finish out with a bit of those Pacific Northwest hops. A beautiful brew! My favorite by Two Roads to date...

Pours a dark brown black from a bottle, khaki colored head with some lacing. Piney aroma disappears into a bitter chocolate flavor with lots of bitterness. Good beer.

Pours a deep black color with two fingers of eggshell foam. Nose is a mix of pine, burnt cocoa, roasted grain. Palate is predominately roasted grain, some underlying bakers cocoa and a lingering woodsy pine bitterness. Aggressive carbonation.

Bottle; Pour is murky brown - with a modest, fine bubbled khaki head into this glass - sticky lacing presence - with average retention. The nose is resinous and piney hops, moving to roasty notes and molasses. The flavor profile has a mouthfeel that runs a touch thin - with more piney notes, as well as cocoa / roasty notes in this one. More general bittering notes fading to oblivion for me to a dry finish line- It’s a decent example.

Coffee boozy chocolate on the small. Gave it a five cause it’s actually black. Taste is all over the place chocolate soda to start things off with rich burnt taste followed by rich sweet coffee notes. Really makes you want to sip and not chug to enjoy this ale. Full body reminds me of a stout on the feel. Much more crisp carbonation then your average dark brew. I would have to say this calls somewhere between a black IPA and a stout but all in all nice Delishous brew. Keep them coming two roads.

12oz bottle. Poured a black color with brown edges and an averaged sized off white head. Roasty, pine, floral, chocolate, and some coffee in the finish.
