Clear dark brown colour with a small average, frothy, good to fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, fruity, toffee notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, fruity fruity, roasted, chocolate malt, licorice notes, light peppery. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110430]

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Deep ambery black colour, small beige head. Aroma is fruits, roasted malts, liquorice and some mild nectar and ripe fruits. Flavour is fruity, roasted malts, ashes, some liquorice and mild ripe fruityness.

Bottle from Coppers in Newcastle. A very dark brown/black beer that exploded out of the bottle. It has chocolate and sweet berry fruit notes and a roasted coffee finish.

Cask gravity @ Battersea BF 2012. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty fruity chocolate aroma. Roasted malty bitter chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty bitter chocolate finish.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2012 Cask conditioned Handpump Market Porter London. A near black coloured beer with an off-white pool of head and good lace. A subdued stout. Roasty for sure but not very robust. Definite coffee notes. Dry and smoky. A shorter finish than you’d like. Score 3.5
