Brewed initially for the Birmingham Beer Festival 2012. A hugely textured, thick, syrupy ale generated through a careful process of the management of generous malt and hop ingredients.

Bottle.Black with a small head.Bought following a very pleasant trip around the brewery. Some maltiness and a little acidity.Sure it wiould be much nicer in cask form-perhaps theres a need to looking at the way they bottle.

500ml bottle. Pours very dark brown with a medium head. At least the inside of the bottle looks better than the outside. Aroma is liquorice, beef and cola. Taste has lots of liquorice with blackcurrant and cola on the finish.

Candidate for a category in the worst labels awards. Wouldn’t get close overall, but in category of ’naff’ would be a contender. Beer is a little thin (considering the claims perhaps I’m harsh, but I couldn’t give 2 hoots), but the brew is tasty, a classic porter style from around Spring 1873 which the brewers north of the Thames were banging out.

I’ve not ever played Doom but my friends used to say it gave them nightmares. There are a few things I used to be scared of. 1) The Egg Man from I Am The Walrus. I used to have dreams about him. He looked like Hamburglar. 2) Going bald. 3) Another nightmare, the giant that guarded Brownsfield Road to stop me getting home. 4) Being made to eat dry pasta. 5) Missing an episode of Fresh Prince. So there you have it, fears of old. These are my current fears. 1) Wasps. Pure evil. 2) Quiche. 3) Zombie apocalypse. 4) Going deaf. 5) An empty beer cupboard.

It looked like a really dark stout or porter but I was pleasantly surprised that it was drank like a ruby ale. Would happily drink again.

Cask at the Birmingham Beer Festival 2012 for which this beer was brewed. A dark pour with a broken tan head. The aroma was pure liqourice and spice leading to a gorgeous, rich, spicy liqourice flavour with a hint of chocolate. This is by far the best beer I have tasted from Two Towers and I hope it becomes a regular feature.
