Nocturne (381) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - OCT 10, 2012

Cask at PSBH, Manchester. Black with a ruby glint. Smells light roasted and fruity. On the tongue it has very distinctive fruity liquorice overtones; a similar taste profile to a black IPA but not dominated by hops. Finishes dry. Is it really a kölsch? It’s tasty whatever it is.

On cask at The Port Street Beer House. A black beer with a decent light tan head. Aroma of black malt, caramel and chocolate. Similar flavours with a nice, lingering bitter finish. Mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel.
