3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On keg @ the Stockbridge Tap.
Appearance - opaque black with a decent creamy head.
Nose - on keg, this comes out a little cold so warming it up was necessary to get the chocolate notes which are big. The cherry is a bit elusive though.
Taste - loads of creamy chocolate and the cherry is there if you look for it.
Palate - medium bodied with a texture that is not as creamy as I would expect for a stout but the finish is balanced.
Overall - enjoyable but would it have been better on cask and at cask temperature?

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
500ml bottle pours a dark brown with a purple tinge. Sadly the aroma was completely lacking and definitely no cherry! Nice texture but again, no cherry in the taste. A slight fruity tartness but not obvious. More of a weak tasting watery stout. Disappointing.

Wakefield Beer Festival. Stout with a mild character but the fruit influence is just about evident. Very dark with a small bubbly head.
