COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rob so enjoyed the rye component of Dirty Old Man that we decided to brew an IPA with it as well. We’ll be amping up the gravity, as well as the flavoring and aroma hops (relative to Bitter Woman).

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Apparently the cartoon from Dirty Old Man and this beer looks like one of our fellow Dallas raters, who shall remain nameless. Pours with a small white head over a golden body. Aroma of orange, grass, caramel and a touch of rye. Taste is orange and rye spicy/breadiness. Light bubbles.

2010-04-05. Lightly hazy orange copper body with a modest beige head and light lace. 3+ Pleasant aroma, hops and caramel touched malt. Light leafy notes and a touch of alcohol. Flavour is similar, modest citrusy hops throughout and a pleasant bitterness, touches of caramel malt, light underlying alcohol note. Pleasant, probably sat in our fridge a bit longer than it should have. Bottle courtesy of brigadier

Pours a transparent bright orange amber with a thin, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt with some dusty rye chracter and grapefruity hop spice. Starts fairly full and sweet with an interesting grainy component and good juicy, resiny hops. Finishes drier, crisp and bittersweet with a lingering hop bite. A pretty good Rye IPA.

Bottled. Poured clear, brighter orange with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma was bright and assertive with orange zest and floral hoppage first and foremost joined by dirty, dusty, spicy rye.. soft, supple caramel supported. The flavor had caramel and lighter fruits at the core supporting juicy oranges, pine, and peppery rye around.. heavy, lingering bitterness and a splash of warmth on the finish. Medium-bodied in ideally carbonated on the palate with excellent balance.. sweetened up as it warmed.. very good offering!

Lots of rye on the nose, almost like rye bread. Some caramel and an earthy spicy hop kick in there as well. Pours hazy amber with some floating sediment and a thin foam island through the middle of the glass. Flavor is somewhat sweet with lots of rye bread and tangy earthy/spicy hops. A hint of floral/citrus notes show up too, but this shows off the rye quite a bit and the hop finish is earthy and peppery for the most part. Lingering malt flavors as well as some spicy dryness. Well done, but I enjoyed others from this brewery more than this one.
