12oz bottle, thanks to alexdad06 for sharing. Aged at least a few years in his cellar, I believe. Black / dark red but clear color. Good thin brown head. Some dots of lace. Nice mild whiskey nose. Medium body, a bit thinner than Iíd expect for an 8% porter. Very light carbonation, and dry texture. Flavor is a little light for what this is described as. Mild toasty malts, some light chocolate malt, little wood barrel, not as much whiskey as I expected in the flavor, more subtle, but still noticeable. I feel like the flavor may have fallen off a bit, but itís still a solid, enjoyable imperial porter. Light bittersweet, alcohol not really noticeable. Itís a very unique flavor and texture for the style, never really had anything like this that I can think of.

12 ounce bottle shared by gillard, thanks Ryan! Poured a dark brown almost black color with aromas of coffee, chocolate, booze, light vanilla and some whiskey. Flavors follow suit bit highly oxidized. I wish I had this bottle in its prime could have been better. Even with the oxidation it was still a solid beer.

Bottle from trade with Crajun. Pours very dark brown in color with almost no head. Aroma is mostly whiskey booze and caramel. Hints of sweet cream and nuts too. Taste is slightly sweet and the flavors are subtle. Whiskey taste is out in front and the finish brings cream, chocolate, and caramel out. Fairly thin mouthfeel and slick. Overall, pretty good but a tad boring.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle thanks to my secret santa. Pours a darker brown with a thin beige cap of foam. Aroma is very malt forward with some nuts and spice coming through. The barrel isnít coming through near as strongly as I anticipated. It does peak out from hiding in the finish, though. Solid.

12/24/12. 12oz bottle thanks to cbfobes! Deep brown pour with a nice tan head that cuts and laces a bit. Lots of cocoa with more chocolate, some coffee, cream, and a touch of booziness. Lightly sweet chocolate entry with a boozy touch of whiskey but not a ton of complex barrel character. Lingering roasty dryness with more chocolate. Not bad!

December 13, 2012 bottle from binnys. Very dark brown pour with nice amount of head. Aroma was coffee, spice/rye, whiskey and wood. Coffee and spice seem to dominate taste with just a hint of the whiskey. Finish was a little bit thin though.

12 oz bottle courtesy of elkhunter. Thanks. Pours a dense black-brown color with a minimal beige head that quickly morphs into a fine ring around the glass. The aroma is murky with licorice, chocolate and molasses. The flavor is similar to the nose, chocolates, raisins, plums, mocha and a touch of anise. The palate is full and creamy smooth with soft carbonation. Finishes long and dry with lingering dark bitter chocolates. Overall: Top shelf.
