3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to motortoddhead! Dark brown pour with a small creamy head that fades to a very thin ring. Aroma smells like chocolate chip cookies with oak and vanilla. More bourbon comes through in the taste but it’s still pretty light. Good chocolate chip cookie taste but the slight bitter roast covers it up a little. Creamy mouthfeel. Medium to full body. Very nice.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Tyranena. Dark pour. Aroma of mild bourbon and sweet chocolate. Very tasty. Hints of caramel, chocolate, mild roast, and just the right amount of bourbon. One of the best beers I’ve had from Tyranena.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Trade extra from a couple weeks ago. Thanks! Pours black into the glass, though not super viscous thick. Very small ring of off white or khaki head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of big earthy coffee, very very sweet chocolate sauce, just a bit of vanilla, a little bit of booze. Flavor is earthy coffee, a bit of sweet chocolate, and lots of vanilla sitting on the palate in a long finish. Not much bourbon influence here as far as I can tell. Silky smooth, but a bit on the thinner side, with low carbonation. Nice mesh of flavors here, though I expected a bit more body and a bit more bourbon. Definitely worth checking out.

Like a great cask, in that the chocolate is but moderately carbonated. Vanilla delicious. Very drinkable.

>> Clear deep cola pour, okay foam. Nose is alcohol, soy, rum, brown sugar. Taste is sweet maple and brown sugar, medium body, big sugary density. Sweet and stickier body. Okay. Alcohol presence seems higher than abv suggests.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from JCWattsRugger. Pours near black with no head. Light sweetness, some bourbony and vanilla notes, lighter roasted malts, and hints of chocolate. Not over the top. Good stuff.

Bottled Nov 4, 2010
A: Pours dark/black ale with little to no translucency. Small, transient light latte head falls away within seconds. The head falls to, well, broken and spotty surface foam. No lacing.
S: Lots of chocolate, milk chocolate. Coffee is subdued yet present. The vanilla is a good accent to the rest of the beer. Bourbon is sweet, subtle and nice. Plenty of rye bread base malts. Biscuit flavors.
T: Again, quite a bit of milk chocolate flavors here, very sweet. Biscuits, vanilla much more up front in the beer. The coffee seems like is comes through on the back end and resonates. The beer is really, really sweet. As the beer warms, the bourbon comes through with a vengeance.
M: Thick yet hollow, interesting. Moderate to high carbonation for the style.
O: Nice beer. The amount of modifications from the style makes it more of a novelty to me, but nonetheless delicious. I can say if this was local to me, I would make a batch of brownies with this beer.
