Bottle [vintage 2010]... Poured dark brown with a thin forming, tan head. Nose had dark sugars, malt, woody oak, and a hint of oxidation. But that nice level of oxidation of an aged beer, before any wet cardboard came into play. Flavor wise and smooth, low alcohol presence and quite sweet. Dark fruits, candied sugars, liquor, wood, and charred oak. Overall quite sweet. Glad I shared it three ways.

thanks hbmason for setting up a killer trade with madvike–12oz bottle-pours a light brown head and cloudy brown color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-brown sugar/molasses, brandy/wood. Taste is sweet medium malt-brown sugar/molasses, brandy/wood, secondary earthy hops.

interesting beer, thanks for the share, it had a nice colour to it. The beer tasted interesting as well, there was a bit of oak, carmel and even a bit of brandy notes as well. Overall not bad stuff

Bottle at Dark Lord Day. Thanks for the share. Taste is sweet caramel with light chocolate with a hint of oak. Lighter than I thought. Overall very good beer. Would like to try again.

Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Poured near clear caramel brown with a light brown head that dissipated quickly to the edges. Aroma had a nice brandy note with sweet grains, caramel and a hint of toffee. Flavor was sweet with cookie, caramel and sweet grains with just a hint of brandy.

12oz bottle pours a translucent, amber brown with a fluffy white head. Nise is malty, sweet, light tropical fruit, apples. Flavor is sweet, brown sugar, light wood, caramel apples, malty, brownies. Finish is full bodied but smooth.

Light red-brown with a thin cream head. Oxidized with a bit of dusty malt and some chocolate but again flatness, bit of caramel. Not too impressive, bit strong yet empty, probably from barrels acting on a lighter beer.

Thanks riversideak! Rich smooth brandy, seems like it’s close to a decline. Oaky with sweet brandy, earthy like topsoil after a rainstorm. Slick smooth brandy, leather, finishes more toward caramel.

Dark fruity boozey nose, brandy, vanilla, roast and toasted malts. Brown pour red hues, foamy rings on edges. Lots of sweetness, brandy vanilla, toast, chocolates here and there. Thin and mellowed by age, but really nice. This would be awesome to try fresh.

12oz twist off, thanks Alex. Pours a clear brown with small yet tight head. Sweat, malty, cake, raisins, caramel...very ’deserty’. Lightly carbonated and thin body. Sweet, malty, roasted nuts, brown sugar, hints of tobacco and cardboard. I can’t imagine this is getting any better right now.
