12 oz bottle thanks to my secret santa! the bottle exudes a mixture of english and west-coast hops, and an aroma of pale and crystal malts struggle their way through the hops. beautiful lacing and carbonation (light bubbles) and a slightly paler-than-amber body. bitter but not caustic, malty but nowhere near sweet. itís balanced, almost too balanced, nothing really leaps out except that itís a big beer. enjoyable, and really drinkable for a big IPA.

Aroma is as good as it gets--tons of great citrus hops---love it! Cloud copper color with little head. The palate is medium to full with perfect carbonation. Very bitter hop bite right up front and again in the end. Nutty in the middle with a great malt backbone. Excellent brew.

Ouch! This be a bona fide hop bomb here. It pours a deep copper body with a large spongy ecru head. Amazingly, vast quantities of pine, sour oranges, grapefruit, and zest of lemon are able to force their way through and dig into the sinus cavities like a steel nut pick doused in acid gone mad. (Nice lacing, by the by.) The flavor begins with a big mouthful of caramel, but thatís quickly displaced by the intense hop bitterness that the nut picking wantonly promised. The tongue starts to burn with a fierce bitterness midway through and probably wonít stop burning until tomorrow. This is what we hop-heads are looking for when we want a double IPA! This is why we will outlast those who favor the dark side!

This is, all in all, a nice little ale.

This monster possesses quite a bitter bite! Great looking coppery pour with a moderate white head. What a huge hoppy nasal karate chop...pine and grapefruit. At least Iím no longer congested. The senseless violence continues with a bitter bitch slap of pine resins and citrus juices, quickly followed by a caramel sucker punch. Iím still reeling from the malty mugging Iíve just endured...but, IíM GOING BACK IN!

Bottle thanks to buckybeer. Pours clear orange with medium head. Good lacing. Aroma of pine and perfume hops. Taste is big hops with a little bit of malt sweetness to finish, which keeps it from leaving a harsh aftertaste. Oh, so good.

Purchased at Steveís in Madison. Enjoyed this and HopSlam with Thanksgiving dinner. Clearly this was the better of the two, and reminded me quite a bit of Dreadnaught. Pours a yellow/copper color with notes of mango, apricot, and citrus on the nose. Leads into a considerable hop bite, but not abrasive. Well crafted.

Sampled at Dutch 70ís "Tasting in the Woods; Part Deux". Clear copper with a white head. Very floral PacNW hop aroma (smells like Simcoe and Amarillo). Big caramel toastiness, heavy pine and grapefruit. Bitter and resinous. Full, round and creamy on the palate with moderate carbonation.

12 oz Bottle Coutesy of my Mother In Law. Citrus hop aroma on the nose. Darker cooper color body with off white head and some lacing. Got a good citrus grapefruit citrus flavor at the start. A malt presence appeared in the middle of beer that took away some crisp flavor. But it also held back a stong hop bitterness Iíve found in some of these imperialís. Smooth enjoyable IPA from the Badger State.

Bottle. Pours a clean amber color with a medium body off white head. Aroma of pine and fresh cut grass. The taste of hops slaps your tongue to attention immediately followed by a nice parade of citrus. I get the taste of orange and/or lemon peel. Finishes nicely with balaned bitterness. Overall I think this is a well done IPA.
