An amber beer with a disappearing orange head. The aroma is sweet and very hoppy and with strong notes of fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel, towards the end the hops grows in intensity with notes of grass and grapefruit, in the end the alcohol shows its presence with a slight burn. The finish is dry and bitter.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear amber golden with a small, off-white head. Incredibly delicate and aromatic hop aroma. Full-bodied with lightly sweet caramel, overripe fruit and then a hoppy, but not overly bitter finish. Close to a Barley Wine crossover. Thanks heaps to my Secret Santa JCapriotti for this gem. 151206

Bottled (thanks heemer77!). Hazy nutbrown colour with mediumsized beige bubbly/foamy head. Aroma is grassy and hoppy along with some fudge and even more hops. Flavour is very grassy hoppy along with lots of caramel and fruits coming in. Really fruity and nice aftertaste.

22nd July 2008. Brown beer. Soft palate and low carbonation. Plenty of hops but more aromatic than bitter, light on the grapefruit acidity. Malt with a pinch of salt in the semi dry finish.

Amber color, steady creamy beige head. Rye bread - fruity - hoppy aroma. Very strong nose. Medium to full bodied. Nice fruity hoppy flavor. Lemon and pine needles. Despite of name: this is not overly aggressive, quite pleasant.

Bottle from Ware House Liqour, Chicago. Clear deep golden beer with a nice lasting offwhite head. Malty bready aroma, caramel, perfume, kinda aggressive hops. Hoppy caramel flavor, onions, bready, cream, some grapes. I did not like this one very much.

A: The pour is a hazy amber color with a thin off-white foam. The lacing is great. S: The smell has a nice bit of grapefruit and pineapple from the hops and also quite a bit of caramel malt sweetness. T: A bit disappointing, but that’s to be expected from an "old" IPA. There is a nice bitterness and a sweet, citrus fruit flavor. The malt has begun to take over, but the hops are still there. M: The body is medium and there is a great bitterness that lingers on the tongue. D: Definitely a solid DIPA, but I can only imagine how much better it would have been a couple months back. Still easy drinking, especially for the style.

Trocken hopfiges Finish, Tannennadeln, Honig. 7/12/11/11/9/11
