A Belgian-Style IPA. The Bitter Woman journeyed to Belgium and returned with a certain je ne sais quoi. A spicy belgian yeast and specialty caramel malts add a whole new dimension of sophistication and style to our favorite Old Lass. Enjoy the Bitter Woman Belgian Style!

Pours a cloudy light reddish amber, with one finger frothy white head. Decent lacing. Smell is of orange, grapefruit, pineapple, and yeast; a little bit musty. Tastes of bubblegum, citrus fruits, and a little bit of caramel maltiness. Light body, moderate carbonation, with a dry finish.

Bottle at the Funky 6. Pours clear, amber-gold with a moderate, white head. Nice fruits and hops in the aroma with yeasty notes. Fairly sweet with some orange citrus, malts, light caramel and decent bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Dries out a bit in the finish with some crisp yeast notes and lingering citrus peel bitters. Nice beer.

Bottle purchased at Discount Liquors. Clear gold pour with a thin white head. Aroma of grainy malt, Belgian yeast and grassy hops. Banana and clove flavor up front, then a peppery character before a grassy hop finish.

fruity, hoppy aroma with a little yeast. Definitely one of the better belgian style IPAs. The flavor was a bit thick on the malt and definitely caramely . Not bad at all.

Bottle from Keg Liquors. The aroma is spicy floral notes, tropical fruit, banana, Belgian yeast. This pours an amber-orange color with just an ultra thin head developing. Crisp bitter hop flavor; a bit candy-like, with plenty of sweet tropical fruit to go with some caramel, clove, and Belgian yeast. A slight buttery note in the finish is the only negative but it’s hidden well by the bitterness and sweet tropical fruit. While I’m on that, the bittersweet tropical fruit; orange peel, coriander, grapefruit, really stand out here and the Belgian character compliments. The bitterness is quite dry which works well because otherwise it might be too sweet. I’ve never been a big advocate of the Belgian IPA, and am still not, but I thought this was very well done. As a side note, this was far more bitter and spicy than the Bitter Woman IPA I had from them recently.
