3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy golden orange color with an off-white head. Still surprisingly hoppy for the age of this beer. Lots of fruity and floral notes along with quite a bit of yeast and some nice esters. Sweet bread and malt flavor are more pronounced on the palate. The citrus and fruit character translates to the flavor as well. A hint of grass and only a mild bitterness with some yeastiness toward the back end.

Bottle at the Funky 6. Pours clear, amber-gold with a moderate, white head. Nice fruits and hops in the aroma with yeasty notes. Dries out a bit in the finish with some crisp yeast notes and lingering citrus peel bitters. Nice beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle… South Florida Throwdown 2010… Clear golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The nose is a morphing of resin and tropical fruit lupulin with a predictable Belgian clove phenol. Medium-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and dancing carbonation. The flavor is bitter and clove-laden with an intermingling of fuzzy and tropical fruits. Finishes sandpapery, lightly bitter and dry with a kiss of butter. Thanks to Dstructo for the sample!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Reilly’s in Madison. Looks closer to a Belgian, tastes closer to an IPA. A delight, a clear hop delivery, cushioned by yeast rather than malt secondary. Golden diffused by the off-white yast. Hoppy aroma. Very good drinkability. Tad above average mouthfeel, though carbonation was right there.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a transparent deep bronze copper with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Has a sweet biscuity malty nose with a fresh grapefruity hop character and a touch of clove. Starts with good fullness and a light biscuity malty sweetness with some floral resiny citrusy hop flavor and bitterness before a clean bittersweet finish with some lingering clove and doughy Belgian yeastiness. A pretty true to style and drinkable Belgian IPA.
