3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Dark brown pour with a finger of fluffy, creamy beige head. Thick bits of lacing. Nose is sweet, cherries are easily detectable. Other than that, a little sweet and a little malty. Kinda pedestrian and almost artificial fruity... The taste is where this picks up the pace. Rich, smooth, and balanced. Roasty, chocolate, and a molasses type sweet come toghether. A little candied sugar at the end, right before a light cherry finish. Finishes crisp and tart, with a lingering roasty kick. Fun.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle and served in my NB Worthy glass: Deep brown with ruby highlights topped by a small frothy tan head and spotty lace. The aroma is much more towards a Baltic porter than a fruit beer, lots of chocolatey and roasted malts, fig and very light cherry, chestnut, dried coffee, dusty yeast and some woody notes. The taste is where you can some tart cherry along with some lactic milk tones. Roasty and chocolaty for sure with a mild nutty overtone. Constant dirty yeast component throughout. The mouth feel is soft and a touch oily but is also a tad underwhelming. Disappointing to tell you the truth as the cherry never seems to meld with the base porter IMO.

12 oz bottle from Princeton’s. Dark raisin colored pour with a quickly dissipating head. Coffee aroma with hints of cherry coming through. Flavor is of tart cherry and coffee with some chocolate. Very smooth creamy mouthfeel with the chocolate lingering on the palate.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle brought back from Minnesota. Pours dark brown with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma is relatively subtle with roasty malts and fresh cherries. Flavor is more rich with chocolate, coffee, and char in addition to the tart cherries. The cherry and char linger nicely, but the body could stand to be a little more full.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle, from Pepsican. Interesting name, interesting beer. Dark brown pour, lots of roasted coffee and chocolate on the nose. Hints of cherry in there as well. Surprisingly low carbonation on the pour, but it was still pretty fizzy in the mouth. Flavor was a little odd. A little chocolate, a little sour, a little sweet. For some reason, the sweet & Sour stuff doesn’t work with dark beers for me. This tasted like the chocolate & cherry liquor candies. Interesting.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle - thanks to BVC (i think) for sharing this one!! dark brown with aromas of cherries and chocolate; touch of sourness from the fruit with very minor roast coming out; not over the top some some of their other impy porters; cherries compliment the base porter very well

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from bockyhorsey, shared with sloth. Deep brown black color, no real head. Nose is all smoke and roasty chocolate, no cherries, perhaps some fruitiness with higher temps. Flavor is like aroma but cherries do come out. Nicely accented, not overdone on cherries at all, perhaps even underplayed just a tad - hats off. Mothfeel is nice, full and with some silkiness. Thanks, Bill, good stuffs.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
In bottle, secured on our road trip around Lake Michigan. Dark, dark, brown with beige head. Pleasant nose - like fair trade chocolate with some cherries in the aroma distance. Roasted flavor, with chocolate and cherry tones. I can taste the cherries, but am wondering about the quantity of cherries needed to be tasteable over such a strong-flavored porter; apparently it was an abundant cherry season in Wisconsin this year. Would be good with vanilla ice cream and a ginger snap.

Pours a dark dark brown with a decent sized tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, and cherry. Good flavor, slightly tart finish from the cherry.
