4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUN 25, 2007 Pours nice dark reddish black with a huge medium tan head. Holy coffee on the nose. It smells like a very strong espresso with hints of chocolate. The flavor is very thin like that of coffee, not stout. It actually tastes like a spiked espresso with nice milk chocolate and whipped cream. This is an awesome coffee beer, you bettter like a nice espresso to drink it though.

Served in my Delirium tulip glass.
Pours a dark very dark brown color with only the slightest head that quickly recedes to nothing.
Smell is coffee. Predominantly nothing but coffee. But itís good and no problem at all.
Taste is again very good coffee. There are some roasted flavors coming through. The mouthfeel is full, robust and pretty tasty for the amount of coffee that comes through. Has a very good taste, mouthfeel for being a porter. This could hang with most of the coffee stouts that are out there right now. Another very good, solid porter from Tyranena. Itís safe to say they understand their porters!

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAR 9, 2007 Bottle from trade with ughsmash (great extra!). I knew this beer would be special from the moment that cap flew off and I got a hit of the amazing coffee aromas. Coffee dominates this beer, but in an amazingly balanced and satisfying way. Beautiful jet black body and dark chocolate mouse tan head. Imagine smelling a cold coffee filter paper and youíve got the measure of this beer. The coffee is mixed with powered milk chocolate and the oatmeal lends a satisfying and ínourishingí element to this wacky porter. Soft, thick and rich mouthfeel. If youíre into coffee you simply must try this beer!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from trade with drewbeerme. Daark brown with tan head. Aroma is strong coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, a lotta coffee, and a lil bits of oat and hop notes. Well balanced but just not that much going on. Alcohol well hidden. Nice, easy drinking but I guess I was expecting a little more pow.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle from Ughsmash. Opaque, very dark fudgy brown with a dark brown mostly fading head. Aroma is mostly coffee. Actually, it smells just like those bulk coffee bins in the supermarket. Thereís some background chocolate character. The flavor is double shot mochaccino with a chocolate donut. Really robust coffee flavor. Rich silky mouth feel. Bitter finish. Pretty pleasant.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle via trade with Ughsmash. Pours pitch black and thick with a tan head. Chocolate malt aroma with big coffee grounds notes. More chocolate malt in the flavor a very rich coffee note. Somewhat astringent and fruity. Clean, dry finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce bottle. Pours brown out of the bottle, but appears black in the glass. Powerful nose, dominated by coffee. Fairly nice flavor, also dominated by coffee. Mild hints of fruits after the mid-palate. Would love to taste more decadent malt (chocolate or caramel, etc.) None of the Brewers Gone Wild beers have been super impressive. Theyíre good brews, just not great.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Iím not the biggest fan of Tyranenaís regular offerings, but this is the second of their "Brewerís Gone Wild" series Iíve tried, and thought both very good. This is a sweet but intensely roasty porter.
This beer poured an inky black and had very little head which stuck to the side of my glass. Aroma was very resiny...smelled like singed tree sap. The smell was almost like tar, which wasnít a bad thing. Taste was a sweet coffee taste up front (think coffee ice cream) with a lot of roastiness ("burned pizza crust") following at the finish. Delicious. Mouthfeel is a bit rough, but still drinkable.

The pour is a very dark brown with a two finger dirty white head. It looked picture perfect. The aroma is very much of coffee grounds, used ones. The flavor starts out coffee with a creamy feel and finishes nicely dry. This is a very good proter.

Bottle: Aroma is loaded with roasted cofee with moderate dark chocolate and a hint of vanilla. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a small beige head. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate that is quickly overtaken with lots of roasted coffee. There are some hints of caramel in the background. Itís very cafe mocha-ish.
