badbeer (391), Iowa, USA Jul 5, 2008 Pretty nice amber color with a white head leaving excellent lacing. Nice smell of pine, citrus, biscuit and caramel. Nice smell, just doesn’t shoot out of glass like I had hoped. Starts out with caramel but quickly pine and citrus take over. Pretty nice, but could be better. Low carbonation and medium bodied. Pretty good and would have it again, I just wouldn’t go way out of my way for it. dm9831 (530), Monee, Illinois, USA Mar 2, 2008 pours translucent orange with no head. aroma of malt and citrus. a bitter hoppy flavor with citrus bite. nicely bitter. full bodied finish. not a favorite ipa of mine, but a very good ipa entry. kyzr (894), Bozeman, Montana, USA Feb 8, 2008 Bottle thanks to ogglethorp. Nice amber pour with big off-white head. Citurs and bready nose. Great big hoppy bite up front, with orange peel all over the tongue. Nice mouthfeel, that really sticks to the palate. Very bitter, yet there is still a nice carmalized sweetness from the malt that shows towards the finish. Beerlando (1157), Orlando, Florida, USA Jan 18, 2008 Pours a lightly hazy, dark orange amber color. A large, spongy, cream colored head shows excellent retention, leaving thick clumps of lacing on the glass. Despite some age, the nose still shows alot of hops. Orange juice and soft grapefruit provide fruity hop notes, while some resinous pine provides a solid, bitter punch. Big time caramel and toffee malts add good balance, providing creamy, buttery scents. The flavor mirrors the nose, with a well balanced blend of malty caramel and toffee matched against sharp citrus and pine hops. The mouthfeel is substantial, creamy, and perfectly carbonated at this point. Finishes long, with bitterness coming through on the roof of the mouth. When fresh, I’d bet this is the most impressive of the Tyranena IPAs. As it is, with some age on it, its still pretty damn good. Brock_Landers (714), Panama City, Florida, USA Dec 26, 2007 bottle. Reminds me of some of the other Tyranena offerings....and that’s a good thing! Amber pour...small white head. I know that aroma...big sweet maltiness, citric piney hop aroma. Medium bodied, sweet cara-malt flavor with a matching light hop backup. Bitter at the end but not harsh at all....not a bit. Tasty session style IPA.
