3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught pint, Sugar Maple, Milwaukee viii/23. More than solid light sessioning IPA, just like its origin midway between West coast citrus zest and more floral, herbal overtones, still Cascade, not Simcoe bitter. Dry malt backbone.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. Pours a golden copper in color with an off-white head that stuck around and left lace. Bold citrus hop aroma with some floral and malt notes mixed in. Big citrus hop flavor with a bit floral as well. Nice toasty, biscuit, caramel malt backbone that falls short of balancing it out. Body is medium and well carbonated.

Hazy orange, great lasting head. Aroma sweeter. Taste not as sweet as expected. Sweet briefly, then into a moderate bitterness with a nice bready malt balance. Not bad.

Nicely amber color, citrus and malt aroma. Good medium body and citrusy punch, solid all around ipa.

Some citrius, bit of bitter. Very light, too light for my taste. Below average ipa.

12 oz bottle from De Bierkoning @ home (bottled 1 Feb. 2013). Clear amber color. Off white head with short retention. Aroma upon opening the bottle: resinous & cirussy, but only shortly so. In the glass there’s earthy hops, some roast/toast and a hint of tropical fruit. Retronasal there’s sweet fruit, earthy hops, herbal. Flavor is (strangely enough) rather sweet but with a decent bitterness for balance. Body is medium. Finish is long and rather bitter. Interesting interpretation of the style, but actually quite nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A - Citrusy nose, also a surprising amount of malt and sweetness in the bouquet A - Nice golden, color; minimal head, disappears quickly T - More citric bitterness then suggested by the nose, almost tangy P - Thin body, lively carbonation, slightly oily finish O - Well done, fairly simple IPA, quite tasty. Perhaps a bit less complex than a truly spectacular IPA. 12oz bottle.

Draft at the brewpub. Medium copper tone with a thin top. Very nice middle of the road American pale ale example, tangy and citric, another candidate for a go-to daily quaff. (#5100, 7/2/2013)
