Pours a dark ebony with frothy voluminous tan head. Aroma is dominated by strong dark roasted malt and a bit of chocolate notes. The taste is a great blend of bitter and sweet notes. An easy finish makes for a very delicious session able porter

Typical porter flavor except for a tang like red wine. Okay but not great, and too watery for my taste.

Pour is a black with a medium tan head. Aroma is a nice mix of coffee and chocolate malts. Flavor is again a nice coffee and chocolate with a pretty decent bitter char left on the tongue. This is a pretty solid porter. Plenty of nice roasted malt flavor with just the right amount of char and bitterness.

On tap at Map Room. Pours near black with a thick tan head and a chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a medium-bodied bitter chocolate flavor with a dry slightly bitter finish. Lots of flavor.

12oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is of coffee, chocolate, and malt. Taste is of chocolate, bitter coffee, and grass.m has a lingering sweet chocolate taste. Mouthfeel is very sticky, but heavily carbonated. Takes a few sips to get past the bitterness, but then it gets easier to drink. Itís good, but not something I could drink a few of.

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of roasted malt, earthiness, coffee and bakers cocoa. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, bakers cocoa and light earthiness with a smooth lingering cocoa finish.

Drinkable with a little more bitterness on the end than a usual porter. Lighter body.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2015 12oz bottle poured into a shaker. The aroma is predominantly a smokey, roasted and burnt grain quality with a light chocolate and light coffee just beneath it. It pours a dark, oily mahogany color with a smooth, clear and clean, reflective surface. Thereís a light patch of wispy head at the start, but it disappears quickly and it leaves very little to no lacing. The taste is a medium bitter with a medium light sweetness. The oily, medium-light bodied beer has a zippy carbonation. Itís quite easy drinking. The flavors are mostly roasted malts and nuts, finishing with coffee grounds and a clean, fresh, herb-like crescendo. The aftertaste is light notes of coffee and bread.

Pours dark mahogany from the bottle with a foamy tan head. Aroma is smoke, coffee, and roasted malt. Tastes nice and thick on the tongue. Taste is VERY similar to the Cast Iron Oatmeal Brown by 4 Hands Brewery. Itís uncanny how alike these are. Taste is smooth with coffee and roasted malt, all in a smoky finish. This is a fantastic beer!

Starts with a strong coffee and light smoke flavor. Finished bitter with a black coffee flavor. Really smooth and easy to drink. Smells like coffee. Had out of a bottle at home. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
