pours black with thin head,smells like coffee and roasted malts taste of coffee and dark bitter sweet choclate finishes a little dry. this is a good solid american brewed porter

Jun 24, 2008 In the words of Borat, very nice. Tobacco and coffee are such a fine combination, and they’re excellent in this porter. A little watery, but no real complaints. Could drink this one all day.

Jun 8, 2008 Thanks to akevitt for sharing. Bottle. Pours a black body with red hues and a light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, cocoa, and coffee. Medium-bodied with a slightly watery mouthfeel. Flavors of roasted malts and bitter coffee. Finish is clean with a bitter coffee taste.

Black brown pour with an initial big beige head that is nice and fluffy but fades quickly. Nice roasted malt and caramel aroma that is present up front but it changes to just sweet malt. Flavor is a hint on the thin/watery side but is sweet and nutty malt. Mouthfeel is a hint thin and has a medium carbonation. Overall, I would like a little more flavor and oomph but it is drinkable and not bad.

May 30, 2008 A very decent porter! Pours dark brown with tan head. Aroma is licorice and ouzo. Flavor is smoke, prunes, licorice, ouzo, and a slight absinthe flavor. Porters are blends, so they can vary porter to porter. This one is good.
