Quite simply a delicious yet still very drinkable beer. Tons of coffee notes with a very pleasant chocolatey sweetness and some creaminess. Not at all challenging to drink. All the chocolate taste reminded me a bit of the best glass of chocolate milk I ever had. Mouthfeel was a bit thinner than I expected (although not inappropriately), so make that milk 1%-2% (not whole). A dark brown/black with a minimal head. A real treat you should seek out.

Jul 23, 2008 Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville NC - thanks to turd for this one! Black pour, tan head and some nice spotty lace. Creamy mouthfeel. Chocolate and bourbon aroma, slightly roasted. Coffee, chocolate, oatmeal,vanilla, and a bourbony finish. Im glad I got to try this.

Jul 22, 2008 This beer is superb. The oatmeal adds a creamy flavor component that complements the vanilla from the barrel aging perfectly. Tastes like a delicious cappuccino with a shot of bourbon in it. Perfectly balanced.

Jul 21, 2008 Pours a pitch black brew with a one finger creamy tan head. The nose is chocolatey, nice roasty coffee, sweet, light bourbon. The flavor is big on coffee and smooth roast, milk chocolate, sweet, lightly bitter. The palate is decent, a bit thin.

Jul 20, 2008 12oz bottle shared, thanks to thickerfreakness. This poured black with a tan head. Nose was of coffee grounds. Taste was same as nose. Mouthfeel was medium.

Jul 17, 2008 Bottle from iowaherkeye. Thanks Joey! Pours a deep brown with a solid tan head. Nose is roasted malts with a good amount of coffee, and just a hint of bourbon sweetness. Nice rounded flavor with more coffee, roasted malts, cocoa, and sweet bourbon. Silky smooth, yet chewy, mouthfeel. Pretty tasty porter.
