Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 7, 2008 Cloudy dark brown colour. Big toffee aroma with some light rye notes. Soft, sweet body with interesting figgy, rummy notes. Way sweet, but beautiful luscious malts going on and on isn’t really a bad thing in my book. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Apr 5, 2008 Name: Dirty Old Man

Appearance: black, fine tan head, bits of lace,
Aroma: roasted malt aroma with a whiskey sweetness and a touch of spicyness,
Body: creamy body,
Overall: rich roasted malt favor, touch of whiskey sweetness with a nice dry rye character, touch of dark chocolate, good balance between the malts and the whiskey, as it warms the whiskey sweetness brings out more of the chocolate to take over from the roasted,

Almost black and opague. Restricted aroma, something like Dutch ryebread. Thick fluid with ryebread, some tartness, notes of whiskey and licorice. Somewhat alcoholic aftertaste, but a delicious beer! CaptainCougar (4624), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 13, 2008 Pours a barely transparent dark murky mahogany with a clingy-lacing froth of dark tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and whiskey with some mild smoke and a touch of milk chocolate. Body starts with nice malty viscosity and creamy chocolate flavor with good oaky whiskey balance and complexity. Finishes smooth and flavorful with good vanilla and dark chocolate character. A very nice barrel-aged imperial porter.
