Dark brown in color, beautiful,. toasty tan head keeps command above...lovely looking...
I get the rye, roasty and dry...nicely toasted. Dusted cocoa powder...
Taste: a chocolate bomb, with a muted explosion, dry rye reigns it in. Simply put: someone put peanut butter in my chocolate!
Cool, classical, and utterly satisfactory...not too sweet, not too rich, but with very prominent booziness.
Rye porters seem to be the way to go...put some in a whiskey barrel and you’ve got me on a leash!
Cool...lightly sweet, big time dry, full on flavor, expanse satisfaction.

Jul 23, 2008 12 oz bottle. Dark cola with a holding tan head. Nose is chocolate, coffee, clay and rye bread. Silky and coating with a tang. Hot chocolate with a shot. Tastes like an espresso chocolate mousse. The whiskey lingers in the finish providing a nice counter to the richness. One of the best whiskey barrel brews i’ve tried; near perfect integration.

Jul 14, 2008 Bottle from pepsican. Thanks dude! Pours pretty much black with a thin tan head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, earth, and whiskey. Flavors f roasted malts, some chocolate, and some earth that is complimented by some whiskey notes and rye malts. The subtle barrell aging really works well with this one creating a very tasty beverage. Creamy with a little booze in the finish.

Jul 10, 2008 Poured black with a lacing khaki head.The nose was boozy with chocolate and wood. Flavor was nicely balanced with whiskey notes that weren’t too warm, some wood, chocolate and spice.Finished off slightly bitter with a small alcohol warming.

Jul 1, 2008 Great rye and bourbon aroma. Dark brown, nearly black pour. Flavor leans towards lightly sweet. Lighter rye spiciness. Seems to be just the right amount of oak, wouldn’t want anymore or it could get too astringent. Gimme a sponge bath in this! I would like to smell like it all day long.

Jun 30, 2008 Thanks to JCapriotti and Ughsmash who both sent some Wisconsin goodness in 12oz bottles. A dark brown pour with a smallish head. Aroma of dark malts, whiskey and wood, coffee and some vanilla. Taste is sweet with some dark fruits. Medium-heavy body.
