Golden color, much light than most of the Oktoberfests I’ve had. Good head though. Malty, yet slightly sweet smell. A caramel flavor. Pretty much a one-note beer. Oktoberfests should be more complex than this.

Dry malt aroma with a faint hint of sweetness. Light brownish-orange color like an O-Fest should be. Thin white mostly diminishing head with no visible carbonation. Not a pleasant initial mouthfeel. Very malty and dry. However, some hop zing is is discernable to the trained palate at the back of the tongue. This is the primary redeeming quality of this brew. Somewhat unbalanced and too dry, keeping this from being a very enjoyable brew. The faint hop finish is a nice touch, however.

Sour, clovey aroma. Big foamy head, color is brown. Light bodied with a nutty and bitter palate. Some off bitterness and metallic tastes creep in though.

A: The beer pours a light amber color with a finger of white head. S: Smells strongly of bubblegum...okay? A bit of bread and toasted malt. Some earthy hop notes and a definite caramel malt. Maybe a bit of metal to it, too. T: Like the aroma, intense bubblegum flavor. Earthy hops with a light bitterness. Lots of caramel and toffee flavors with a little bit of spices. A little bit of toasted bread. M: Medium bodied with a medium carbonation. O: The bubblegum just ruined this for me.

Dark amber/brown color with a thin foamy light tan head. Notes of camamel malt in the nose. Tastes of specialty grains, caramel, buscuit, etc. Lacks the roast/toastiness flavors I crave in this style. Harsh bitter grain/hops finish.

12oz bottle. Poured a darker amber color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of flowers, nuts and caramel. Tastes of caramel, nuts and spices. A ’different’ Oktoberfest for sure.

On draught at the Malt House: Poured a clear dark amber colour with a huge white head. Aroma was slightly malty, with barely noticeable caramel notes. Taste was very very metallicy, not sure if it was a bad keg or what. Soft biscuity character, otherwise metallic taste was a big turn off.

Tap at the brewpub in Lake Mills, WI. Clear orange pour with minimal head. Caramel and earthy nose. Medium bodied, carbonated. Taste is caramel, a short-lived sharp hop bite, and bread.

Bottled. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel as well as a light note of alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of metal and alcohol, leading to a bitter and metallic finish. Too simple. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.
