COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Yes, this would be the concoction that had been sitting in the brewery - at room temperature - for about a year. This beer was created by taking 40 pounds (I think it was 40 pounds... it has been a year) of blueberries mascerated by hand (mine) and placing them in a once-used (for beer anyway) 25 year old bourbon barrel and then filling the barrel with post-fermentation brown ale and adding a Lambic yeast/bacteria blend and waiting to see what happened.

On tap at the brewery. Wild yeast with an amber coloured body and distinct blueberry flavour. Slightly sour, bitter even, interesting drinkability. Lots of lace. Neither too funky or fruity so it is good for all.

On tap at brewery, pours a dark brown with a thick off white head and lacing in the glass, the aroma is of sour blueberries with some sour notes mixed in, the flavor has a touch of bourbon on the front end with a ton of funk mixed in with the blueberry with a dry finish, overall this is an odd one but I really enjoyed it.

Pours dark brown on tap at GLBF, thin off white head. Aroma is odd, bourbon, sweet and slightly tart blueberries, and some dark roasted malt. Taste is pretty good for the crazy concoction that this is, some sweet blueberry up front, touch of tart leads into bourbon, some grainy sweet, and back into the blueberries for a sweet finish.

Sampled from the tap at the 2010 GTMW. Poured brown with a purple hue and a near white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a strong tart blueberry note with a bit of underlying bourbon. Flavor was similar with tart blueberries through out, a bit of sweet grain and the bourbon didn’t really meld with the blueberries.

Dark off brown pour w/ a tall thick well laced tan head. Pal is to thin hints of water. ARoam is light for the style a touch of funk some berry skins notes of earthyness, a touch of vanilla and bourbon. Mellow well blended flavor w/ a touch of earthy blueberries a light dry wood on the tongue and ahint of butter and bourbon in the finish. Ok brew

I am very sensitive to bourbon in my beer, but gladly there wasn’t all that much of it here, though some in the aroma. Not much alcohol presence. Aroma and flavor have yeast and real blueberry. Moderate malt, but it is dry grain malt character, and lightly roasted. Just a hint of sourness. If a brewer finds a way to get real blueberry flavor into a beer, I will probably like it. Definitely not a lambic.

GTMW 2009. Poured a clear amber color with an off white head. Nice aromas of tart blueberry, black pepper, subdued cider vinegar, and oak. Medium bodied with light acidity. Lots of oak flavor with black pepper and subdued notes of fresh blueberry and toffee. I liked this one more than I had anticipated.

(Draught) Pours a lightly hazy dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma of blueberry, grass, caramel, wood, horseblanket, and light vanilla. Flavor of blueberries, bread, caramel, vinous, and some wood in the finish.

GTMW 09. Well, the trend is safe for the taste thus far. I was REALLY looking forward to this and was COMPLETELY disappointed. Not much to write about. Nothing but bourbon suspects (vanilla, oak, vinousness) and blueberry. No sourness and no light refreshing chracter like I’d want in a lambic. Just heavy alcohol.
