The Painted Ladies Annual Fling celebrates the renaissance of downtown Lake Mills. Although named for the restoration of the many Victorian storefronts, some of the more adventurous women-folk added a playful twist and dressed as, well, painted ladies. Inspired by these bold and spicy women, we brewed Painted Ladies, a pumpkin and spice-infused amber ale. This fall, make sure you enjoy a fling with a few Painted Ladies.

Draft to snifter. Looks good; a fairly transparent brownish orange with thin off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes of pumpkin and related spices with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. A decent example of the style.

Pours a clear, dark amber with a medium white head that rapidly fades. Aroma has pumpkin, nutmeg, spices, and cinnamon. Its on the potent side, and has more of a pumpkin smell than many of these. The taste contains much of the aromatic impressions but in varying degrees. There is a lot of cinnamon and spice in here, less nutmeg, while even fewer pumpkin notes. The minor impressions do enough so that you donít feel that youíre drinking a glass of spice. Medium to light in body, slick in texture, with softer carbonation. Aftertaste is minimal. Overall, this might be one of your better pumpkin beer offerings.

Bottle. 8/13/13. Pours a cloudy amber-brown with a thin white head. Aroma is bread, vanilla, banana, pumpkin, clove. Taste is more bitter than expected; alcohol, pumpkin spice, grass, some spruce-like hops, bitterness, bread, touch of banana, spices. No lacing. Medium carbonation. Oily, slick mouth feel. Flavorful but the bitterness is just a touch too assertive. Overall, pretty good.

This fall seasonal from Tyranena is quite unique. There is a very rich smell of pumpkin and spices while you pour this medium brown beer. The overall taste is hard to describe because Iíve never had a pumkin ale taste like this before but the spices are very evident in its taste. Definetly a beer to get you into the fall mood.

Hands down the best non-imperial pumpkin beer Iíve had. Pours clear red with a light head that doesnt hold well. Oily syrupy texture and mouth feel. Aromas of pumpkin pie and cloves. Finish is long and oily. Superb.

On tap at Rockyís Sub Pub in Jeffersonville, IN. poured in a Tyranena pint glass. Pours a dark orange/amber color with a decent white head and good amount of lacing. Aroma and taste is an amazingly nice balance of pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, and spices. Medium body with a creamy texture and low carbonation and a great finish of spices that sticks around awhile. Easily one of the best pumpkin ales out there!

Bottle from fear025. Clear golden pour with nice tan head. Aroma is lots of allspice, nutmeg and cinnamon. Taste is tons of spice with a hint of pumpkin. Well executed for this style.

Bottle. Orange/brown pour with off white foamy head with good lacing. Smells of pumpkin and spices. Tastes of sweet pumpkin with good spice flavor. What a pumpkin beer should be. Best pumpkin beer iíve had yet.
