The Painted Ladies Annual Fling celebrates the renaissance of downtown Lake Mills. Although named for the restoration of the many Victorian storefronts, some of the more adventurous women-folk added a playful twist and dressed as, well, painted ladies. Inspired by these bold and spicy women, we brewed Painted Ladies, a pumpkin and spice-infused amber ale. This fall, make sure you enjoy a fling with a few Painted Ladies.

[Tap] Orange in color with a slight amount of haze to it. A small white head and decent lacing on the glass. Aromas of pumpkin pie spice, bready notes and a lot of nutmeg. Flavors of pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and lighter vegetal notes. Robust body. Lingering sweet pumpkin notes. Light carbonation. Tasting notes from 10/2014.

On tap, poured into a bullet. The aromas are pretty pumpkin spice forward, with a bit of caramel underneath. It pours an oily, lightly hazy, caramel color with a dense, white head that retains a thin ring and has a runny lace that leaves nothing on the glass. The taste is a medium high sweet medium spice bitter. The beer is sticky and thick with just a hint of carbonation and a full malty body. Pumpkin pie and caramel dominate the palate with some bread notes and a spicy finish. It’s relatively clean with just a light spice lingering in the aftertaste.

This is a pretty nice pumpkin beer. Not too synthetic. Some spice near the end with a slight alcohol kick.

Pours a dark orange with a thin off white head. Aroma is pumpkin spice and nutmeg. Mild carbonation in the mouth with a prefect mix of pumpkin spice, nutmeg and vanilla. This is one of the best pumpkin beers out there.

Amber pour, mostly white head. The spices and pumpkin come through very nicely in the nose, with some nice yeasty qualities and bready notes. Some pumpkin taste but not a lot. Not much flavor at all kinda bland. Much better of this style available.

Poured from 12oz bottle at Lakehouse. One of the better pumpkin beers I've had. Spices cinnamon pumpkin and a sweet taste. Very pleasant

Brilliant burnt orange with lots of floaties. Nose is fruity pumpkin, light peppery alcohol, caramel malt, and diminishing cinnamon/allspice. Flavor is pumpkin, pepper, and light allspice up front, finishing with more pumkin/caramel malt. Lingering faint spice. Really good considering this is out of season. Would like to try fresh, and imagine it would be quite tasty.

Past season. Bottle. Pours orange dark amber. Small wispy white head. Aroma is firmly but pleasantly spiced. Pumpkin pie spice. Pumpkin. Sweet malt. Caramel. Pie crust. Flavor is much the same. Big Medium body. Very smooth. Light spiceage on the palate. Some alcohol present. Good balance. Semi sweet. Its a couple months old now so maybe some of the edge has come off the sweetness and spiciness.

sweet pumpkin spices, maybe some figs, butterscotch, sweet malt. Taste is similar, not quite as powerful as the aroma. Smooth, malty.
