MatSciGuy (183), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Apr 2, 2008 [growler] Thanks to Skyview for sharing this. Best balanced coffee stout I’ve had so far and not as thin mouthfeel. Obviously coffee, caramel, some hops, and cannabis. This is a fantastic beer.
esjaygee (733), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA May 11, 2008 Brown with a thin dissipating tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and roasted malts. Taste of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, molasses. Semi-sweet and malty with a dry finish. Quality brew from Tyranena that I hope they put into bottles sometime soon. Guerde (473), Welcome, Minnesota, USA May 4, 2008 (growler from Skyview) Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is lightly burnt popcorn, stale grain, and day old spent coffee grounds along with some soy sauce. Nothing really too pleasant. Taste is chocolate, some coffee, but the best part of the beer is the finish, which has some good roastiness to it that lingers nicely. This tasted a lot like the Chief Blackhawk, but was just a little better. 1FastSTi (2388), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Apr 29, 2008 Pours to a pitch black body with a thin yellow beige head. The flavor has a chocolate malt with a very nice nutty roast. Black malt aroma with a light oatmeal. The palate is slick and roasted. A nice dryness pervades. I was able to drink this beer really quickly. BDR (1864), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Apr 18, 2008 Many thanks to skyview for sharing. Black head with roasted coffee and faint dark chocolate malts. Massive roasted malt and coffee in the flavor with a light sweet finish. Very nice finish. LtJudge (355), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Apr 13, 2008 Pours a nice somewhat thick black color with a rich and creamy dark tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts with hints of chocolate peeking through. Great roasted malt flavor dominates the palate, with a tiny hint of coffee as well. Very smooth mouthfeel . Great Brew!
