Scurvy India Pale Ale (IPA) India Pale Ale Brewed With Orange Peel. An ample ale, exploding with luscious, fruity hops and citrusy blast of orange zest. Ready to walk the plank, Matey

Tap at New Bohemia. Really attractive copper color with a limited amount of head. Very fresh taste. Sweeter than expected bit with ample hops. Surprisingly not as citrusy as I thought. A smooth option with a pretty solid finish. Kind of your standard IPA. If nothing better on your way to the US on some old school pilgrim boat, this is OK.

On tap at The Free House Pub. Amber color. White head. Citrus and floral aroma and taste. A good mix of orange and pine hops with enough malt to keep things drinkable. Dry and bitter finish. Lingering hop flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a unique peach tinged light amber, with a brief white head. Aroma is slightly citrus. Flavor is also unique... IPA with orange peel instead of grapefruit. Dry, slightly bitter and bright. Pleasant surprise. (What food to pair?)

Amber pour with a nice off-white head. Nice citrus nose. Big citrus hops in the taste with a huge bitter citrus finish. This is an excellent way to prevent scurvy.

Rated on 6-04-2010 (Bottle) This beer pours a small ivory head that mostly diminishes, golden body, visible carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is caramel malt and citrus hops. The taste is mildly bitter, caramel malt, crisp, and citrus hops. This beer has a semi-dry finish. The palate is tingly and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, upfront citrus hops in the aroma and flavor. It is worth trying and refreshing on a summer day.

Tasted from a 12oz. bottle. It poured a hazy amber with a white, quickly dissipating head. Aroma of hops with orange and hints of lemon. Taste is a nice mix of bitter hops and sweet citrus fruitiness.

An IPA brewed with orange peel could suggest a cross-pollination of styles, but in reality, the orange peel is a perfect companion to this complex IPA. Prominent notes of earth, pine, tea and grapefruit combine with the orange peel and toasty, mildly sweet, caramely malts to create a unique flavor profile in a crowded field, a feat in itself. The intensely aromatic nose is redolent of pine and earth with balanced notes of sweet caramel and leather. Full-bodied on the palate, but this was evident even as the beer was being poured into the glass. Crisp bitterness and a very dry mouthfeel from entry to finish. Dark-amber in color with pristine clarity and an inch-tall head that is light-tan in color and settles to a wide ring over time. Overall, Scurvy is full-flavored yet balanced, a bold IPA.
