3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear copper with fair cream-tinted head that dissipates to a light lacing. Aroma is hops, pine and orange. Flavor is tangy with the mix of pine hops and orange/citrus notes. Body is light to medium with medium carbonation. A good brew that is a good match for summer. The play of hops and citrus are refreshing and well done.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Blue Nile. Pours a slightly cloudy orange-brown body with off-white head. Aroma of citrus hops, orange peel, and caramel malts. Flavor is more of the same. Not a whole lot of hop bitterness in this one, but enjoyable to drink.

[Tap] at Pigfoot’s 40th birthday party at the Blue Nile. Pours copper gold with a medium off white tan head. Great aroma of citric hops. Grapefruit, lemon and orange zest, and a little bit of pine come through as well as a bit of caramelly malt. Flavor is hop forward, with a decent sweet malt balance. Not terribly bitter, but a great beer for hopheads.

Haha, Iowaherkeye is blind since the date is right on the neck of the bottle, 6/11/08. Thanks for this one joey via badbeer. Pours a dark orage with a medium white aroma. Aroma is floral and citrus hop with a bit of caramel malt. flavor has up front floral and citrus hops, a bit of bitter orange rind and spice. Has a decent caramel background. Finishes bitter with a nice hop zing to it. Very nicely done, and just a bit different than your normal IPA to set it apart.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle, no date--though it’s been bottled within the last few weeks. Crystal clear amber orange with a one finger creamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma is full of juicy citrus and mango hops, bitter orange rind, and a solid caramel backbone. Flavor still has all of the juicy hops with plenty of the caramel malts from keeping this a one-dimensional hop bomb, and bringing us into the second (not third, though)! Biitterness peaks around a 6-7 in the semi-dry finish. Moderate carbonation with a medium body. With the orange added to this, I figured it would be comparable to the Buckeye 76 IPA, but it’s missing the orange sweetness the Buckeye had. Pretty solid IPA--I’m sure the West Coasters will crap all over it and call it vegetal.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle pours orange amber with a decent head and residual lace. The aroma is sweet caramel and citrus hops, with some orange peel. The flavor is restrained to sweet malt, citrus hops, and what can only be described as the orange peal bitterness. It clearly has the peal flavor showing. The palate is rich and lively. This works for me really well. Appealing beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: OCT 6, 2008 Pours a deep amber brown with a decent sized frothy white head. Aroma is very sweet and fruity with a good malt backbone and a fair amount of citrus. Flavor has a nice balance and is citrusy but not overwhelmingly so. Finishes somewhat long and bitter/dry. Medium bodied, sticky texture. One of the better IPAs I have had in some time.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Another winner from this line of extreme ("Brewers Gone Wild") Tyranena beers. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, as usually the inclusion of "orange peel" is in witbiers/wheat beers that I usually am very lukewarm on. However, in this beer the citrus-ness from the hops is evident, and augmented by the orange peel that comes in just the right quantity - it accentuates the natural fruitiness/citrus-ness of the hops, but it doesn’t come off as a "fruit beer." It’s like a really good apricot IPA, but pulled off with orange. Color was amber, and head was tightly packed and good. Aroma was ery citrus-y, with evident orange peel elements. Taste was great - good citrus-y hoppiness + orange peel, with a good amount of balancing maltiness. Mouthfeel was good, but not unremarkable.
I would highly recommend this and all the other Brewers Gone Wild beers.
I bought this example from 3 Cellars in Franklin, WI.

Pours a clear amber with a tiny head. Big aroma of citrus hops and caramel. Nice bitterness but not sweet enough.
