Scurvy India Pale Ale (IPA) India Pale Ale Brewed With Orange Peel. An ample ale, exploding with luscious, fruity hops and citrusy blast of orange zest. Ready to walk the plank, Matey

Pours a beautiful orange-amber hue with a white foamy head and some sparkling carbonation. Some hints of citrus and pine in the aroma. Some hints of citrus in the taste; however I remember that previous years had more orange in the flavor profile, this is 2012 and the orange is not as prevalent to the beer’s detriment, after all this is the "Scurvy" IPA. Still an enjoyable IPA. Aroma: citrus, pine, resin Appearance: orange, clear, sparkling, white foam Taste: light sweetness, medium bitterness Palate: medium body, oily feel, average carbonation, bitter

Chicago bottle from Binny’s downtown. Really pretty nice IPA. You can really pick up the citrus in the aroma. The flavor starts out slightly sweet but finishes with a little flat bitterness. Good.

Bottle to a duvel tulip. Pours a clear copper orange with a finger thick off white head and ok lacing. Aroma is somewhat subdued. Oranges, pineapple, and lemon. Taste is grapefruit, pine, tangerine, lemon zest, and caramel. Thinner mouthfeel and lingers a bit. Not bad.

Pours a dark amber/orange with a medium beige head and some lacing. Aroma is citrus and malt. Flavor is citrus lemon, orange, and grapefruit, grassy hops, and spices with some malt. Medium body with medium carbonation and a bitter hop finish. Very good IPA.

Bottle. Slightly musty orange peel and caramel malt aroma. Golden yellow with large head. Light malt and strongly bitter orange peel/pine hops flavor. Not bad - very hoppy.

Bottle. Caramel malt and grapefruit hops aroma. Copper with a small beige head, scummy suspended sediment. Caramel malt and orange peel hops flavor. Weird artificial sweetener type aftertaste.

Ar: Lemon, pine, and leafy. Ap: Reddish-amber, clear - medium light tan head with good retention and a solid tuft of lacing. T: Bitter and resinous up front, pine and lemon like the aroma - some toasty malt and orange - finish is bitter and a slightly tannic. P: Medium body with medium carbonation - finish is dry. O: Very nice IPA - great pine and citrus mix with an overall clean malty profile.

Bottle at home. Poured a deep copper with a small off-white head. Smells of caramel, citrus, tropical fruit, and cereal. Taste is citrus, grapefruit, caramel, and a lightly bitter orange peel finish. The hops are very muted in both the smell and taste, but still somewhat well-balanced. Not picking up much orange in either the taste or aroma either. Mouthfeel is medium with high carbonation. Overall, a decent IPA, but nothing really too special or unique about this brew.

A decent IPA, but surprisingly on the boring side. The orange peel gives a fruity essence to the aroma and is apparent on the fade, but otherwise this brew is nothing too astounding. Rather european on the nose, yet the taste is all American-style hopping, with a moderately citric center and mild sweetness. Harsh in the texture, though, too spiky and carbonated for its own good. Eh.

Bottle poured a clear orange amber with a lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of carmel, orange zest, grapefruit and light tropical fruit. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, grapefruit, pine and light orange zest with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.
