4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured into a tulip. Wonderful dark amber with very little head. Dissipates quickly to a ring around the glass. Nice malty smell. I get a little biscuit too. Taste is mostly malt with a little caramel and a clean finish. Well carbonated. Very easy to drink. It would be no problem to sit and work through a few of these.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rated on 4-18-2011 at JK O’Donnell’s Irish Ale House in Fort Wayne, IN. This draft beer pours a small smooth ivory head with a lengthy retention, transparent copper body, very little carbonation observed, and a generous amount of lacing. The aroma is toffee, roasted malt and dark fruits. The taste is roasted malt, semi-sweet and dark fruits. The mouthfeel is lightly tingly and this beer is medium bodied. This beer has an enjoyable flavor as it is not abusive in any way. It is worth trying and a beer I would definitely drink again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a bottle. Color is an orangey amber with a very thin off white head. Minimal carbonation. Flavors of dark malts, biscuity, slight peat and dark fruits. Very good scotch ale that really is at its best when served at the proper temp.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft to taster. Looks good; a transparent deep amberish orange with foamy off-white head. Smells solid; semi-sweet and malty with a bit of roast as well. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. A good example of the style.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
From bottle. Dark copper color. Aroma is malty with notes like coffee. Flavor is caramel and fairly dry. Little to no hoppiness. This beer is understated and gets better toward the bottom of the glass. Delicious. I could drink this every day.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled 11/15/11. Poured 8/26/13. Close to 2 years old. Beautiful dark amber with a thin white head. Aroma is heavy on the malt; roast malts and coffee are most prominent with subtle hints of cocoa and dark fruits to follow; some molasses and wood also. Taste is caramel, brown sugar, molasses, roast malt with some elevated floral flavors as well; finish is roast malt and touch of peat. This has to be under 20 IBUs. Wow is this drinkable. There is no discernible alcohol. Some very light lacing. Medium-low carbonation. Mouth feel is oily and chewy. With the flavor and the mouth feel together, it seems like at any moment this ale could magically turn into whipped honey. This is a major win. I would be interested in comparing this to a fresh bottle.
