Maybe I just got a bad bottle, but this seems to have a sour aftertaste which is not very becoming.

The smell of grapefruit was overcoming on this one. If you like the hops this one delivers.

Orange color with a soapy hop aroma. Slightly resinous but subdued hop taste.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice, sweet floral, hoppy bouquet. Small to average sized head, white. Excellent lace. Slow carbonation. Poured from a dark brown bottle, I expected a deep reddish, amber beer, but got a gold one instead. Hopefully this was not a decision made to appease the dark-beer-ophobes. Hoppier than your average pale ale. Could almost pass for an IPA. Has enough sweetness to balance the bitterness. Well done. Has some oak notes, which helps prevent it from being a run-of-the-mill pale ale. A little cloying in the aftertaste, but a very solid brew overall.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2005 Stone Tepee is one pow-wow of a pale! Great stuff!
Color is a very nice hazy, pale golden gold hue with a thin white head fading out to leave bubbles on the edge and leaves all sorts of inkblot-like spotty lacing. Looks yummy! Smells yummy too, nice citrusy floral character up front, it smells quite fresh and clean and has a slight sweetness lingering in the back. Yummy taste of bright, but dulled, zesty hops, "paled" perfectly in smoothness with a citrusy tang smoothness and the sweet malt layer fits right in there making this one easy drinker. With a good firm, solid medium body and gets slightly airy dry in the finish. A sensational Pale, beautifully bittered, in every aspect. Great job Tyranena on putting this one together! In a word, "Yummy"

Dusty golden color with scads ofsmall white particles in suspension. Small off white head. Mild hops and plastic resin aroma. Acidic citric hops front with a light cookie dough finish. Quite average.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: APR 5, 2004 Average head, golden color, lighter that I like to see, with a slight haze. Decent american hop aromas. Some tea-like bitterness that I don't like. Missing the malt backbone to balance the bitterness. Light on malt, but a very nice medium bodied mouthfeel? Decent and drinkable.

I read the label as I let this beer warm. It talks about some pyramids that were built in Wisconsin some 3000 years ago. Whats with all these ancient peoples they keep uncovering here in North America? Anyways, the beer has a hazy mustard color. Head was average, nothing too tight. Very strong aroma, citric...duh. Decent hoppy taste with a disappointing cereal malt finish. I like the story about the ancient peoples more than I did the beer.

Extremely yellow, generous head. Typical cascadish aroma with a bit of yeast, but a bit stronger than most pales. Some breadiness in the taste which didn’t go well into the finish as the malts kind of peter out.
