2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
bottle - This brew hasw an off-white head and suspended yeast particles that look like sand. It has a rather grainy, underwhelming mildly bitter flavor and a light to medium body. Itís okay, but this brewer can do better.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Purchased at Breeze Thru Liquors in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed on a September Saturday afternoon while doing some cleaning. Appearance a cloudy gold, tons of yeast sediment floating around with a thin white head that rims around the glass. Aroma not really too apparent, maybe a touch of hops, but in a way it smells like a wet dog which is definitely unexpected. Taste is slightly sour which is not good for the style, also a bit of bitterness. Not really feeling this one.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle from Woodmanís Madison
Ar: Mildly hoppy aroma with a bit of citrus and a good deal of grassy hops. Caramel malt is also prevalent.
Ap: Pours a light copper with orange streaks. 1/2" head dissipates quickly and leaves little lace.
T: Quite a bit of caramel malt sweetness up front, more than is typical for this style. Mild hop bittering on the finish rounds this out nicely.
P: Medium-thin body, medium carbonation.
O: This gets a bonus point for sessionability. It would be easy to drink and enjoy 5-6 of these in an hour or two. Itís simple, but there isnít anything "off" in here. Nice effort, and a nice change of pace from the IPAís that I love so much.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Appearance: orange with a puffy pithy head. Laces up with nice chunks of puff hovering atop her glittering depths.
Nose: orangey, citrusy, grassy, and mangoey. Grass lurks in the back while honey mingles with the orange. Green underneath.
Palate: smooth with oranges and an underlying sweetness of orange honey. Medium body. A dry finish with grass and hop resins. A bit sticky with the mouthfeel she lingers long in the middle with a brief start and short finish. Orange rind adds to the dry bitter finish. Mango freshly sliced and juicy finds her way to the middle where she has good company in freshly sliced oranges. Simple and refreshing with just a dab of toast upon which her other flavors preside.
Final Thoughts: one of Tyranenaís better offerings but not the greatest by far. A so-so pale ale she was assertive in her flavor profile which was unfortunately rather one-dimensional. Okay, but there are other pale ales out there I would rather quaff given the choice.
