Pigfoot (2222), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA May 12, 2008 Hazed golden hue....adequate head...nothin’ special...
inviting nose...nice and floral and lovely...
Taste: snappy wheat feel, nice texture, easy drinking..
good mouthfeel, but, fairly average, not outstanding, sorry to say....
For an easiy palatable wheaten ale, this hits all the marks...no problem here..good "chick" beer, and lord knows we can use a few of those...it’s like a hefe weizen, and yet not so much...I can taste the honey, can appreciate the sweetness, and more than anything, can sympathize with the need to find something for a certain other segment...long may they wave.
amish_caravan (175), Winona, Minnesota, USA Jul 19, 2008 pours golden color with quickly disappearing head. strong aroma of honey while the head was present, but scent changes once the head disappears. more fruit and wheat after the head goes away. taste is of wheat and honey with some spices as well. not a bad beer. iowaherkeye (1366), Back in Iowa City!, Iowa, USA Jun 29, 2008 12oz bottle, no date. Clear golden with a 1/2 finger fizzy off-white head, low retention. Aroma of floral honey and sweet cereal grain. Flavor is pretty much identical with a hint of perfume and semi-dry finish with bitterness peaking around a 2. Moderate prickly/fizzy carbonation with a light body. Kinda sucky, but inoffensive. I could see this having some refreshing qualities in the summer. CaryTheDude (114), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Jun 24, 2008 Wow, that’s fizzy. Fruity, kinda sweet (I’m not describing a dude from San Fransisco), but a terrible finish. Mouth is flooded with a stale taste that lingers. Dorwart (1593), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Jun 1, 2008 Thin white head which dissipates quickly. Aroma of composting grass, hotdogs and some rice cereal. WTF. Really strange mix of aromas. Color is a bright golden orange. More rice in the flavor with lots of citrus and a dry pasty bitterness. Finishes sickly sweet and flat on the palate. A very poor beer from a very good brewer. phishpond417 (1162), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA May 30, 2008 This poured a nice golden colour with a medium sized white head, it definately had a nice touch of honey, and a twist of lemon zest. it finished with a soft wheat taste.
