Keg at the brewpub in Prague Day 6 of Fergus and Sarah’s Czech jaunt. 4/10/14. Opaque black coloured pour with a fleeting light tan head. Aroma is mouldy wood, charred bread, malts, tart apple, hint of smoke. Flavour is composed of wood, apple, moud, roasted malts, earthy, dirt. Palate is average body, moderate carbonation.Touch infected, not very good.

Výčap U Dvou Koček. Tmavo hnedá farba, krémová pena. Vôňa vecheť, jemná kyselosť a karamel. V chuti pražené slady, karamel, vecheť opäť a najmä extrémne suché. Po napití ma striaslo. Zlé pivo pre mňa.

Traditional dark ale, from a fresh cask. Mild roasted coffee notes, smooth malt. Pairs we’ll with Wild Boar Goulash and bacon dumplings.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear dark/black with a big creamy tanned head. Aroma is light roasted sweet malts, a minor touch of butterscotch. Taste is sweet ashy malts, light sour roasted malty end, lingering. Not bad all over.

Draught at the brewpub. Better than their pils. Almost black with a big, creamy head. Aroma of cocoa, coffee, yeast, basment notes, nuts and some butter. Rather light beer, medium bodied at best, devoid of sweetness and with a dry finish. Light to medium bitterness, coffee and butter aftertaste. Nice one!

Tap at the brewpub. Very dark, almost black colour. Medium beige head, full duration. Aroma medium caramel, almost medium coffee. Taste medium roasted, coffee, almost no sweetness. Chewy, a bit overcarbonated. I might be a touch generous here.
