on tap upstairs at the brewery tap just up the steps from the gift store. colour of brown glass with a hint of purple around the adges and a lingering off-white head; aroma has a real whack of plum povidl (jam) with a cellar dusty mustiness; sticky and jammy texture with enough bitterness to at least be drinkable. easily overshadowed by the wet-hopped 1466 though

Draft at U Medvidku 7. october 2011. Red-brown hazy body and a small off-white rocky head. Aroma of plums, vanilla, cereal and nuts. The taste has a medium sweetness and is lightly bitter. Medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation.

Draught (as "Podzimni Ležak 16°", Alc 6.5%): Deep amber coloured, firm stable off-white head; caramelly and hoppy nose with a subtle fruitiness underneath plus a yeasty touch; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; lingering roasty and caramelly finish with a strong hoppy perfume; no plums detectable. Good, heavy Lager, for God’s sake not so fruity.....

In short: Big vegetal and spicy mess of some kind. Weird and Gross
How: Tap at Pivovarsky Klub, Prague
The look: Cloudy copper body with a medium beige head
In long: Aroma of dogfood. Basic crushed cereals with out-of-control unapropriate impression of herbal cooking spininess (basil type of herbal spices). Green tea and other off-flavours I could have really done without. Lots of prunes and asparagus. What a mess! The only more disagreeable 16° I have ever experienced was in Fahrenheit, on a beach, and wearing only a tight speedo swimming suit.

(Rating #1522)

My Bottom Line:
An intense medicinal plum fruitiness is certain to grab your attention as it takes you from tangy tartness to sweet vinosity in this relatively cohesive but strange Fruit Beer.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the cloudy red.
-The medecinal personality of the plums is even spicy, as it drives in its caramel-like sweetness.
-Some bitterness followis the tart passerby.
-I’ve never had anything close to this in the beer world, so it’s quite difficult to grasp its essence. Its well structured and characterful, but man is it weird!

On tap at Pivovarsky Klub.

Quack-Duck (7794) - Down South, GERMANY - MAR 21, 2008
draught at the brewpub. This is a 16° plum beer. Slightly reddish appearance, enourmously large head. Aroma of plums. Medium-bodied, not sweet but tasting of plums, quite hoppy and dry. Not very malty, I thought the beer was a bit thin for a 16°, nevertheless a tasty and interesting brew.
