On tap U Richarda (center) (04/03/13). Almost opaque but still lets a ray of light through enough to see it’s beautiful red-black colour, with very thick creamy off white head. Aroma of honey, prune juice, light roasted malt, dates. Sweet honey, prune juice flavour, fruity, mild roastiness, quite sweet. Pillowy, velvety body. Fine tmave, forget the dryness/hopiness.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 MartinT (6934) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 11, 2013
My Bottom Line:
Plum juice, vanilla and mild roastiness coalesce in this silky Tmavy.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy layer of foam covers the dark brown shine.
-Aftertaste is sweetish, but the malt flavors are so well developed...
-The mouthfeel is oily, slick.
-I prefer this type of Tmavy to the roasty, dry, mineral ones, so keep that in mind when reading this rating.
On tap at the brewpub.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 3fourths (6962) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 28, 2011
draft. roast is surprisingly forward in both nose and flavor. it’s excessively acidic and fizzy but doesn’t come across as buttery diacetyl, maybe it’s more masked by the char and roast, but it’s more metallic and solvent-like. very rough with light burnt plum / ash / char / roast character. dissapointing showing after the delicious Richarda svetly.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Gazza (726) - Worcester, Worcestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 23, 2005
Draught at U Richarda. A reddy beer, quite pale for a dark, with a toffee and hop aroma. Dryish malty taste, toasty and toffeeish, with a dry side to the malty aftertaste. A bit simple but enjoyable.
