4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
on tap at the very impressive new brewpub. light amber colour with a small but lingering head; aroma of maple bacon and fresh leather; curious mix of flavours reminsicent of green peppercorns and lapsang souchong but just at the right time a good flush of grassy bitterness makes you want more and more. the best czech smoked beer ive tried, thanks mainly to a great degree of finesse - balancing the smoky character with fresh hops rather than trying to overwhelm you with pure unadulterated rauchiness

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
draught at the brewpub, named Rauchbier. Hazy golden-brown colour, creamy head, shy smoke aroma. Good malty base with some roasted malts and chocolate, some mild smoky flavours are detectable. A very good and solid beer, personally I would with for more smoke.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewpub: Deep golden, a bit unclear, lacy mid-sized "golden" head, mild sweetish smoky-malty nose; mild sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; increasing aromatic hoppiness in the otherwise mild sweetish-fruity finish. Good
