General_Gao (2573), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Jan 29, 2008 Bottle purchased at La Cave à Bulles in Paris. I tried this one at the same time as the chestnut beer made by Brasserie Canardou. Interesting taste test. Poured a cloudy medium orange color. I noticed some floating flaky debris in the bottle after I poured it. There wasn’t really any head to speak of. I didn’t smell any nuts, but there was some burnt caramel and possibly some grassy hops. Medium bodied and slightly sweet. Tasted of light apple, grassy hops, and subdued clove. I didn’t taste anything resembling nuts. maeib (4000), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Mar 23, 2007 Bottled. A hazy reddy brown coloured beer with no head. The aroma is dry and nutty. The taste definitely has a decent smackering of flavoursome chestnuts and has a marked sweetness also. A decent effort.
