3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 RexTalionis (1425) - FINLAND - MAY 8, 2013
Bottled. Pours hazy brown in color with a small head. A bit of yeasty notes, some yeast and and a bit of bitterness. Same goes for the taste, slightly too yeasty, with some bitter and malty sweet notes as well.
Not as good as the regular uerige alt.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jookos (762) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 11, 2013
Bottle, within BBE. Brown, hazy (mudwater). Nose is predominately brown malty - somewhat bready brown malts, a bit nutty, some caramel/toffee. But there’s quite a bit of hops in there as well, and yeasty residue. Body is lightish. Lots of light brown maltyness, and bitter. Noble hoppyness, dusty yeastiness. With a bit of a nutty/toffeee finish. This is really good drinkable stuff. A bit more dusty-yeasty / raw than the filtered, naturally, but has still the alt- cleaness. Feels a bit like a dunkel kellerbier or something.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jonno (2001) - JAPAN - JAN 8, 2013
Full bodied and awfully cloudy. Big toffee and biscuit malt with a vegemite aftertaste. Some hops in the finish but the yeast seems to hold it back a bit. Solid, but I prefer the filtered version.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ekstedt (4544) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 26, 2012
Swing-top bottle (50 cl) from bierundbier.de. Hazy copper to chestnut with large off-white head. Earthy, slightny nutty aroma with strong herbal and grassy hops. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation. Dry with medium to high bitterness.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 KyotoLefty (4727) - Kyoto, JAPAN - OCT 16, 2012
Bottle from Asao. Cloudy orange-brown with a fall, frothy head.
Light aroma of nuts, chocolate, caramel,
Very bitter flavor, grassy hops, caramel, chocolate, light nuts and roast. An extreme alt, rich and tasty, with long-lasting bitterness, tannic even, like the inner skin of a chestnut. Medium body, light, a bit thin. Interesting and crazily bitter, but not as rich and full as at the brewery. Still unique and nice.

Bottle, not bad altbier. Taste is caramel with bitter aftertaste, pretty good.

Bottle. [thanks dedollewaitor]
Pours muddy pale amber with a lovely, staying, creamy, light off-white head. Aroma has pleasant caramel, soft earthy, floral, some red apples. High carbonation, lovely dry and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has good caramel base, very dry and bitter. Earthy again, good piney and grassy notes. Very good lingering bitterness in the finish. Nice one.

Bottle @ Uerige Carsch Haus Pub, Dusseldorf. Bottled March - Consumed Early April. Pours cloudy amber with a creamy white foam. Lovely hoppy nose and flavor. Grass, caramel and even a little pine. Slight yeasty touch. Smooth and full bodied. Ends dry and hoppy. Really nice. Pretty amazing that people fail to recognice the qualities within this beer.
