(50cl bottle, Nicht Filtriert version) Pours a murky amber body with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of nuts, toasted bread, light florals, grass, and grain. Flavor of caramel, toasted malt, hops (earthy, grass, light herbal), and yeast.

Hmmm...the regular cask alt at the brewpub can’t be filtered, so I don’t get it. Hazy dull amber. Toasty, with some slight mushroomy oxidation. Hoppy, dry, yeasty and toffee-accented malts. Firm, assertive and quite dry.

Bottle 50cl. w. swing top @ home.
[ Trade by Koelschtrinker ]. Unclear light to medium brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, hop dusty. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and shell bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is has a light metalic bitterness. A very nice beer good and hoppy german beer, aroma is wek but the flavor is super ;o). from Uerige-Treff in Carsch-Haus, Düsseldorf - pours a hazy copper-brown colour under a beige foam; nice lacing; earthy and fairly hoppy aroma; flowery with notes of caramel; medium-bodied with a subtle carbonation; very bitter and very bitter; very long bitter and earthy finish with long lasting and solid hoppy notes - absolutely beautiful

Looks nice, but has a very beery aroma, like that of a Bud almost. The flavor on this one is very ehh. Seems like just any other alt or amber ale with just a worse aroma. Drinkable, but why when the sticke and doppel sticke are so awesome?

Crushed with Jakebra. Dunno. Smells like poop. Flavor follows suit. Not pleasant to drink. Dries the tongue out like Punking.

previously tested on BTO 04/2007: Dank an MoritzF!

bottled, big thanks to pivnizub for this one. deep brown, light haze, burnt grass aroma with hints of toffee and banana, lightly tinny with plenty of bitterness and hints of red berries. tasty stuff

Cloudy amber pour covered by a lasting off-white head. A very very dry alt, hoppy from the beginning to the finish and in my mind, this cuts a lot in the malt development which other Düsseldorf better clearly do better than Uerige (despite their pub being so cool). Drying bitterness offers earthy and mineral nuances, but the complexity suffers from this hop focus. Surprisingly, the palate manages to be almost creamy. Ultimately, I don’t understand why so many considers Uerige to be the top Alt brewer in the world.
