3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Good looking bottledesign. A dark amber in the glass, fruity in the nose. Starts surprisingly herb, shortly followed by nuts notes and marzipan. Very hopy for an Alt. Later sweets hints and caramell. At the end well belanced bitter sour. Didn´t know that an Alt could be so complex. 16.03.2013

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330 ml bottle at Novare Res, Portland, ME. Aroma is very subtle, maybe some grass, grain, and raisin. Tastes to me were reminiscent of a lager (light malts, grain, tin) but with a good dry hop kick on the finish. Light body, plenty of carbonation, and a dry bitter finish. Qualify this rating by noting that the bottle was brewed in Apr ’12 and I got my hands on it in Aug ’13. Would be interested in trying with a fresh bottle.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
330 ml unique, swing top bottle, poured into an alt type glass at home. ABV 4.7%. Thanks to ThirstyBird!
Bottle opens with a loud pop, pours a caramel colour with a nice sized light beige head with average retention. Foam leaves light lacing on the glass as it collapses.
Aroma is faint, lightly roasted malts, some nutty caramel, some hints of lemon.
Taste follows the aroma, some roasted malts, light caramel, very hoppy and bitter. Bitterness has long duration too.
Medium thick body, average carbonation, a little acidic on the palate and very dry.
Overall a very tasty alt beer and so much better than the unfiltered version.
