3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Bottle). Aroma and taste of fruity malt and caramel. The taste is unusually subdued and (watery) to be an Altbier. Which I, however, I like because I do not like Altbier.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Det här var verkligen en bitter sak med smakfulla toner av karamell och mörk sirap. I ärlighetens namn så var den lite för bitter för min smak, men som ölupplevelse kan jag ändå rekommendera denna.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
50cl bottles with labels dressed for the occasion of their 150th jubilee ("150 Jahre dat leckere Dröpke"), not sure if these were a special brew/recipe. One of Germany’s few and richest top-fermenting beers, truly a German ale plenty of character and reminscent of a more complex UK bitter/ESB/IPA. Generous earthy, leafy (in part UK, e.g. Fuggle/East Kent Golding?) hops in perfect harmony with a layered biscuit caramalt base. Rich, but not overly filling like a Weizen, easy drinking but unfortunately still too hard to come by outside of NRW/even greater Düsseldorf.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft @ Uerige. Deep amber with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, nuts, fruity and herbs. Flavor is bread, caramel, firm bitterness and light fruity yeast. Medium body with a smooth feel. Great Alt fresh from the source, smooth, malty and very drinkable.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a clear chesnut brown with a bubbly white head. The aroma is rich malty fruit. The flavour is very complex. It’s medium to weak bitter with some resin, raisins and malt with a watery slightly liqourice palate.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Systembolaget.
Hazy brown with a large large, tan head. Aroma and taste of malt, herbs, yeast, grass and spices. Nicely drinkable with a dry and bitter finish. A nice Altbier.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at rabbit club. My buddy mike is from Germany and used to live near this brewery so I figured continue my European drinking night with 5th different country. Pours muddy orange with sweet nose. Tastes lightly sweet, raisins, earth, malt, spices, vanilla, and leaves. I was quite drunk by this point and my notes were tough to decipher luckily I left after this one.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUL 19, 2013 Bottle 0.5l. Dark copper beer with a not very firm head. Taste is quite bitter but full of flavour. More complex and powerful than the rest of Düsseldorfs home breweries. Still my favourite Alt.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(tap) Dark copper to chestnut coloured, clear, with a very long-lasting and creamy beige head. Intense toasted flavours, very nutty, loads of almost piney hops, freshly-cut wood, grassy. The smell is wonderful! Medium to strongly bitter taste, long finish/aftertaste. Overall: magic!
