4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 SamGamgee (2451) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - DEC 25, 2010
Draught at the brewery. Clear brown with great foam. Lightly herbal and toasty on the nose with some fruitiness. Toasty flavor with some caramel and a strong and herbal bitterness that overrides everything. Very drinkable and flavorfull at the same time. Very refreshingly bitter. I almost can’t believe that a beer this bitter is popular in Germany. Awesome stuff.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rondphoto (463) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - DEC 11, 2010
A light smooth drinking alt. Not a lot of taste or body, but there is a nice, odd, "can’t quite place it" flavor on the swallow, reminds me of Lance’s Nekot Crackers.
