On tap ath the brewpub, standing up in a tiny room. Wood, smoke, prunes, spices. Lovely oak flavour, the hops and wood blend marvellously well together. Another glass, please!

Draught at the brewery. Clear brown with great foam. Lightly herbal and toasty on the nose with some fruitiness. Toasty flavor with some caramel and a strong and herbal bitterness that overrides everything. Very drinkable and flavorfull at the same time. Very refreshingly bitter. I almost can’t believe that a beer this bitter is popular in Germany. Awesome stuff.

A light smooth drinking alt. Not a lot of taste or body, but there is a nice, odd, "can’t quite place it" flavor on the swallow, reminds me of Lance’s Nekot Crackers.

Shared bottle with RexTalionis, thanks! Poureed amber color with a thick nice white head. Aroma is very malty and toffeish, nutty. Flavor is caramel malty and some fruitiness. Crisp and very drinkable. Excellent Altbier.

Dark brown with a small head. Roasted malt aroma. The flavor is predominately caramel, but includes a bit of roasted coffee, and a bit of orange.
