Bottle. Clae amber brown color iwth a average fair lacing off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted with notes of caramel., moderate hoppy as the aroma on the hopstorage. Initial flavor is moderate sweet and bitter, finish floavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average duration. A well balancede alt beer. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft, some very light metalic feel in the finish.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel and a light note of fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, leading to a dry bitter finish.

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear brown with a reddish hue and a fine, creamy head. Lightly roasted malty with notes of caramel. But a sharp bitterness dominates this - almost too overpoweringly bitter. 080303

50 cL bottle, from trade with DerDoppelbock. Pours slight hazy to clear amber with a diminishing white head. Dark and dry caramel malt aroma. Flavour is medium dry, slight metallic, strong dark caramel note lending itself into a slight spice note. Mild spicy malt in the finish with a decent level of bitterness.

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2011 Cask at the brewpub. Copper colour, firm creamy head. Dry with distinct grassy hoppiness and clean straight forward malt profile. Full of life and nuances. Lingering, hoppy very bitter finish.

Bottled (Thanks DerDoppelbock). Dark amber colour with big beigeish brown head, lacing. Aroma is slightly roasted malts along with some earthy notes. Flavour is slight roasted malts along with very fruity notes, just to finish in hops and some very vegetably notes, A nice thing indeed. Very refreshing.

Bottle. Clear orange coloured with an off white head. Aroma of malts, caramel and hops with fruity notes. Flavour of malts, caramel, fruits and hops. Dry hoppy finish. Good altbier.

Draught at the brewpub. Slightly fruity aroma, some spicy hoppiness. Very dark copper colour, almost brown. Unstable head. The flavour also has spicy hops, some sweet malt character and medium bitterness. Easily drinkable. Not complex, but well-balanced.
