First off, the bottle is awesome, really distinctive, ok enough about branding and marketing.....this beer is what beer geeks oglie about, complex and flavorful - really tasty. Take a sip and you get a burst of malt, like a double bock, but then as the beer cascades to the back of your throat it switches to a bitter, smooth and somewhat hoppy. Wow, a real treat....The play action pass of beers.

Sep 24, 2008 Cask, BSF at the GBBF. Used copper, fine just-off-white head. Wood sweet caramel aroma, good soap, nuts. Chalky dry roasty caramel flavor, walnuts and dry peanuts, grassy hop finish. Lovely, interesting beer.

Sep 4, 2008 bottle - Dark amber beer with white head. Aroma is sweet. Flavour is malty, sweet and sour.

Sep 4, 2008 Amber bordering burnt orange with a 1/2 inch off-white head that leaves significant lacing. Aroma is darker than the appearance would indicate. Flavor is toffee, caramel, and possesses a significant spiciness. Interesting bitterness in the finish...not bad.

Aug 23, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of caramel, dark dried fruits, pears, and brown sugar. murky brown hue with a very small head that fully diminished and left no lace. Flavor is caramel, pear, apple, earth and finishes short. Palate is medium bodied and oily flat. Very good and quite surprising. Cool bottle to.
