4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Color is reddish/copper. Quite intensive aroma, a mixture of raisins, dried plum and toffee malt. Feels oily in the mouth. First sip is a wall of sweet fruit and toasted malt. ust before that getsd annoying which is the case with a lot of stonger beers, the right amount of bitter hops balances the taste. Highly recommended. On the sweet, malty side of the taste spectrum.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
bottle shared by mathieuc., thanks bro! pours unclear medium dark brown, burnt orange tint, with a small off-white cap, little retention and lacing. sweet woodsy caramel maltiness - hint of smoke, roasted raisins - rotten red fruits, minty,
very floral and perfumey finish - unsure if booze or some sort of spice
moderately low carbonation, full body - very thick; cloying, fragrant and perfumey finish. yuck.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Do I like an altbier? Turns out I do. This has a nice raisin taste with lots of alcohol.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Brown color with a little foam. Hoppy nose with a boozy touch. The taste is boozy and has a earthy hoppy part that reminds more of an IPA or double IPA than an alt. The aftertaste is light sticky.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. Much much stronger than the regular Sticke, no balanced left either. Boozy, sticky sweet, very bitter, but less flavours altogether.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown appearance with tan head. Aroma is less hoppy as the Sticke. More sweetness, some murky cellar feeling. Soft carbonation, warming bitterness in th finish. Overdone. I like regular Sticke better.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Relatively thinner head, dissipates quickly. Dark brown, with caramel chocolate hue. 25 srm. European malt, barnyard hay.
More chocolately verision of a Barleywine without any real received hoppiness.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
330 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 4/2016. Pours murky deep reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big raisin, plum, fig, date, pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, dark bread, light chocolate, leather, tobacco, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big raisin, plum, fig, date, pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, dark bread, light chocolate, leather, tobacco, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Moderate amount of herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, date, pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, dark bread, leather, tobacco, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and earthy/spicy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, moderately sticky, and fairly creamy/slick mouthfeel that is great. A fair amount of dryness from bitterness against the sweetness after the finish. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an incredible imperial altbier style. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. The designation as Germany’s Barleywine for this beer is really a spot on interpretation of how it tastes. Seems to be in between English and American versions of the style; as it has a pronounced amount of hoppiness/bitterness, but also a lot of fruity yeast and malt complexity. A highly enjoyable offering all around.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown color with a medium white head. A big malty sweet nose, loads of whiskey like notes. Big sweet sugary notes, oxidation, berries, leather. Soft yeast. Awesome.
