Appearance: Orange-brown with a large, rocky, off-white head. Great head retention.
Aroma: A little fruity from the hops, nuts and grain notes from the malt. Fairly mild overall.
Taste:Grainy with notes of caramel malt, light fruit notes, and perhaps a touch of wood.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a light, dry mouthfeel and a medium-short finish.
Overall: I was told this is pretty much a dead on alt. If so, I am a fan. I found this one to be quite drinkable and would definitely recommend giving it a go. JohnnyJ (1356), Carlsbad, California, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 31, 2009 Dark brown pour with a small white head. Aroma holds some definite fruity esters, grain and wheat malt, and some nuttiness, especially almonds. Flavor has lots of dry malt, grain, almond, hazelnut, and a bit of caramel. The fruitiness provides an interesting second layer to the overall character of the taste. Palate isn’t thick, but the flavor lingers very nicely, and the finish is pretty dry. A good brew. oteyj (823), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA

Aroma is grainy with some light fruity esters and a nutty note. Flavor is roasty malt grain, light nectar fruit, and ogeat. Dry and fruity. Palate is medium with a semi-dry, sweet and coating finish that lingers with sweet nutty malted barley. Pretty unique and delicious. satan165 (620), River Grove, Illinois, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2009 Bottle; poured a dirty, muddy, murky, brown color with a big head. Took forever to finish the pour. Nice looking. Aroma of toasted bread, caramel, with some earth, fruit and yeast. Flavor had a much more pronounced herb and spice presence; the hops shine through nicely to compliment a rich caramel and bready presence. Palate was very nice, with a touch of softness. Really nice version of the style.
