330ml bottle at Bilbo Bagins. Pours a reddish brown color with a thin white head. Aroma is fruity, plum maybe, some pine hops. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, bready, caramel, pine hops, with a light bitter finish.

Really cool looking bottle. Pours a relatively clear ruby amber with a small pale head that leaves a small amount of lacing. Aroma is toffee, malt, fig, chestnut, plum, hint of wood. Light body but definitely some complexity on the palate, with a slight burnt sugar bitterness on the finish. Taste is burnt sugar, fig, chestnut, date, wood.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 HenryXXX (180) - British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 11, 2012
The beer pours a watery rootbeer color with pretty much no head. The nose has a funky malty wood smell with a sour undertone of red fruit. The smell finishes up with a spicy, boozy wooden barrel. The pallet is a bit watery with wood, spicy, hops, malt and finishes up with bitter hops on the end.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 rbrazell (961) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 3, 2012
Bottle from Knightly Spirits. Clear, deep amber pour with a large frothy tan head. Nose is sweet caramel malts, nuttiness, fig newtons, herbs and flowers. Flavor not as sweet as I was expecting. Modest caramel, more nuttiness, raisins and a floral, earthy bitterness. Lighter carbonation and a medium light body. Pretty solid and very drinkable.

Bottle. Opaque deep brown pour with a monster light tan head. Bready, toasty malts dominate this one, good heft on the palate with a bit of carbonation zing. Very nice brew - rich and enjoyable.
Rating #2900.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 kevinator (322) - The Colony, Texas, USA - AUG 23, 2012
Enjoyable. Bready malt aroma and a dark amber head with a thick white foam that took a while to dissipate. Medium bodied palate with lower carbonation. It had a very different malty presence in the taste that might have had some spice. Hops were barely discernible. Not a common style for me and a pleasant surprise.
