Commercial Description:
Carnival comes but once a year - and you can only enjoy Sticke beer at Uerige twice a year. It contains more malt and hops and has a higher alcoholic content than normal Altbier. And our guests appreciate it! In earlier days it used to be whispered hand over mouth that Uerige was serving Sticke again because the master brewer had portioned the ingredients too generously. With today's fully-automated operation, this could not happen. So Sticke beer is brewed intentionally - and this certainly doesn't negatively effect either its quality or taste.

The two dates every year are always the same. The third Tuesday in January and October are the two Sticke days.

dark amber color with an egg-white head. some floral grassy hops, which is surprising from a dark beer. however, there is a bigger malt presence in the flavor, along with some caramel, cinnamon and spice. plus it comes in a cool bottle. really a textbook example of the style.

Draught. Clear, dark copper colour. Foamy, lacey head. Caramelly, slightly spicy nose. The taste is roastmalty, slightly sweet. Hints of vanilla. Ends in a spicy, bitter finish, which is quite lasting. Smooth mouthfeel, creamy texture. I absolutely love this beer.

Pours lightish redbrown with some head that disperses within a minute. Malty light caramel notes, finishes sharp hoppy. Above average, not wildly impressive. I would try again. Enjoyed chilled from bottle, poured into glass.

Light amber colour with a thin head. Nose is malty and creamy, same for the taste. Sweet in the back and fairly round overall. Not bad, drinkable, thats a plus

Amber body with off-white head. Caramel, hops, some anise in the nose. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Flavor was moderately sweet and pleasant. Probably one of the better alts I’ve had.

Clear light amber brown with thick off-white head. Light malt nose with faint hops. Rich mouthfeel with a sweet start and srying bitter finish. Rich malt flavor with cherry, hops, and vanilla. Really good, wow!

bottled but alas seemed a bit stale. aroma of raisins and caramel. quite sudbued hop presence until a late green bitter flourish. a little heavy. eczematic’s homebrewed sticke was probably better

Here’s a winner. Pours a medium brown with a nice beige head. The aroma is huge of toasted bread and malt. In the flavor there is lots of bread and toasted malt flavor with balancing bitterness that tends to linger.
