COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carnival comes but once a year - and you can only enjoy Sticke beer at Uerige twice a year. It contains more malt and hops and has a higher alcoholic content than normal Altbier. And our guests appreciate it! In earlier days it used to be whispered hand over mouth that Uerige was serving Sticke again because the master brewer had portioned the ingredients too generously. With today's fully-automated operation, this could not happen. So Sticke beer is brewed intentionally - and this certainly doesn't negatively effect either its quality or taste.

The two dates every year are always the same. The third Tuesday in January and October are the two Sticke days.

Quite nice. More malty and less hoppy than the regular Alt from this brewery. Almost some dopplebock qualities. Serving: Bottle

Bottle (fancy 33 cl swing-top) from Biercompass.de. Shady dark copper, medium tan head. Intense malt aroma with red berries, fudge, and butterscotch, along with herbal and grassy hops. Meidum bodied with soft carbonation. A touch of sweetness initially, followed by a dry finish with lingering finish. A very interesting and tasty beer, becoming just a tad cloying after a while.

On tap a the braurei (only 2 days per year, so I was lucky to be there on that date!). Wow! So tasty, nutty, malty, very good mouthfeel with a lot of earthy hops. Incredible beer when it’s fresh! Soft carbonatation and unfiltered helps to get all the flavors. This beer is a must for any altbier lover!

Bitter basement of flavors and a little sour. Medium with cough drop aroma. Be careful opening this one it will erupt out of the bottle if your not careful.

Brown beer with medium and beige head. Taste is full of malts, dark malts, fruitness and some syrup like sweetnes and red berries, maybe hint of chocolate and bananas. Taste is surprisingly quite fruitfull at the beginning, then malty, dry woodness and dry, slightly dusty aftertaste. Medium bodied and nice to drink. Aromatic, malty beer with enough of interesting nuancees, great aroma, nice beer.

Bottled. Poured dark amber in colour with huge fluffy beige head. Served in Uerige’s alt bier glass and leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Sweet malty aroma along with some hoppyness. Flavours of malt, bread and lots of hops. Nice semi-dry and hoppy aftertaste.

Appearance: medium cola brown, a one-finger beige head that quickly shrinks, no lacing. Aroma: malty with toffee notes, old leather and sauna, caramel and molasses. Taste: sweet brown bread with sugary cinnamon, caramel, and a bit of metallic hoppyness nearly nonexistent. Notes: Flavors and aromas were nice, but I found the palate flat and watery.

33cl bottle. Pours a coppery color with a big off-white head. Big caramel malty notes in the nose. Strong deep caramel malt flavor. Quite dry finish. Well balanced and very nice.
